因為你是不喜愛邪惡的神，惡人不能與你同住。狂傲的人不能在你眼前站立，你恨惡所有作惡的人。

惡人雖然沒有人追趕，仍然逃跑；義人卻像獅子，放膽無懼。

即使他們把兒女養大，我也必使他們喪子，一個不留。我離棄他們的時候，他們就有禍了。”

耶路撒冷啊！應當受警戒，免得我的心與你疏遠，免得我使你荒涼，成為無人居住之地。”

可厭惡的物，你不可帶進家裡去，免得你與那物一樣成了當毀滅的；你要非常憎恨它，十分厭惡它，因為這是當毀滅的物。”

你的眼目純潔，不看邪惡，不能坐視奸惡；為甚麼見行詭詐的人而不理？惡人吞滅比自己公義的人，你為甚麼緘默呢？

哈該又說：“人若因觸著屍體而成為不潔，又觸著這些東西的任何一樣，這就算為不潔嗎？”祭司都回答說：“要算為不潔淨。”於是哈該回答，說：“耶和華說：‘這民也是這樣，這國在我面前也是這樣；他們手裡的一切工作，都是這樣；他們在那裡所獻的，都是不潔淨的。’

“如果這人民、或先知、或祭司問你說：‘耶和華有甚麼默示呢？’你要回答他們：‘你們就是重擔（按照《馬索拉文本》，“你們就是重擔”應作“甚麼默示？”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯。“重擔”和“默示”原文是同一個字），我要丟棄你們。’”這是耶和華的宣告。

而是你們的罪孽使你們與你們的神隔絕；你們的罪惡使他掩面不顧你們，不聽你們的禱告。

耶和華的使者對以色列眾人說這些話的時候，眾人就放聲大哭。

你們今日竟轉離不跟從耶和華嗎？今日你們既然背叛耶和華，明日他必向以色列全體會眾發怒了。如果你們認為所得的地業不潔淨，你們可以過到耶和華的地業，就是耶和華的帳幕居住的地方，在我們中間得地業；只是不可背叛耶和華，也不可背叛我們，在耶和華我們的神的壇以外，為自己築另一座壇。從前謝拉的曾孫亞干，不是在當毀滅的物上犯了不忠的罪，以致神的忿怒臨到以色列全體會眾嗎？因他的罪孽而死的，還不只他一人呢！’”
