But the Israelites were unfaithful in regard to the devoted things; Achan son of Karmi, the son of Zimri, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of them. So the Lord’s anger burned against Israel.

But the Israelites weren’t faithful to the Lord. They didn’t destroy what had been set apart to him. So they did not do what they had been told to do. Achan had taken some of those things. So the Lord became very angry with Israel. Achan was the son of Karmi. Karmi was the son of Zimri. And Zimri was the son of Zerah. Achan and all his relatives were from the tribe of Judah.

But the people of Israel broke faith in regard to the devoted things, for Achan the son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of the devoted things. And the anger of the Lord burned against the people of Israel.

But Israel violated the instructions about the things set apart for the Lord. A man named Achan had stolen some of these dedicated things, so the Lord was very angry with the Israelites. Achan was the son of Carmi, a descendant of Zimri son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah.

The Israelites, however, were unfaithful regarding the things set apart for destruction. Achan son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of what was set apart, and the LORD’s anger burned against the Israelites.

But the sons of Israel acted unfaithfully regarding the things designated for destruction, for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, from the tribe of Judah, took some of the designated things; therefore the anger of the Lord burned against the sons of Israel.

谢拉的儿子是心利、以探、希幔、甲各和大拉，共五人。迦米的儿子是亚迦，他在当灭的物上犯了罪，连累了以色列人。

这城和其中所有的都要永献给耶和华作当毁灭的，只有妓女喇合与她家中所有的可以存活，因为她隐藏了我们所派的使者。但你们务必谨慎，不可取那当灭的物，免得你们受诅咒，取了那当灭的物，使以色列全营成为诅咒而遭受灾祸。

这件事在神眼中看为恶，神就降灾给以色列。

亚干回答约书亚说：“我实在得罪了耶和华—以色列的神。这是我所做的：我在所夺取的财物中看见一件美好的示拿外袍，二百舍客勒银子，一条重五十舍客勒的金子。我贪爱这些物件，就拿去了。看哪，这些东西都埋在我帐棚内的地里，银子在外袍底下。”

“耶和华全会众这样说：‘你们今日离弃耶和华不跟从他，干犯以色列的神，悖逆耶和华，为自己筑了一座坛，你们所犯的是何等的罪！

要谨慎，免得有人失去了神的恩典；免得有毒根生出来扰乱你们，因而使许多人沾染污秽，免得有人淫乱，或不敬虔如以扫，他因一点点食物把自己长子的名分卖了。

说：“我的神啊，我抱愧蒙羞，不敢向你—我的神仰面，因为我们的罪孽多到灭顶，我们的罪恶滔天。

你们今日竟然离弃耶和华不跟从他！你们今日既然悖逆耶和华，明日他必向以色列全会众发怒。

耶和华的怒气又向以色列发作，激起大卫来对付他们，说：“去，数点以色列人和犹大人。”

船上的人彼此说：“来吧，我们来抽签，看看这灾难临到我们是因谁的缘故。”于是他们就抽签，抽出约拿来。

他们离弃耶和华—他们列祖神的殿，去事奉亚舍拉和偶像；因他们这罪，就有愤怒临到犹大和耶路撒冷。

智慧胜过打仗的兵器；但一个罪人能败坏许多善事。

我确实听说在你们中间有淫乱的事；这种淫乱连外邦人中也没有，就是有人和他的继母同居。你们还自高自大！你们不是该觉得痛心，把做这事的人从你们中间赶出去吗？我人虽然不在你们那里，心却在你们那里，好像亲自与你们同在。我奉我们主耶稣的名，已经判断了做这事的人。你们聚会的时候，我的心和你们同在。你们藉着我们主耶稣的权能，

主啊，你是公义的，但我们犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民，并你所赶到各国的以色列众人，不论远近，因为背叛了你，脸上蒙羞，正如今日一样。
