The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the Lord. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent.

The city and everything in it must be set apart to the Lord to be destroyed. But the prostitute Rahab and all those with her in her house must be spared. That’s because she hid the spies we sent.

And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?

But the law is not of faith, rather“ The one who does them shall live by them.”

I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.

Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion, for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hoofs bronze; you shall beat in pieces many peoples; and shall devote their gain to the Lord, their wealth to the Lord of the whole earth.

By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.

But the people of Israel broke faith in regard to the devoted things, for Achan the son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of the devoted things. And the anger of the Lord burned against the people of Israel.

They departed and went into the hills and remained there three days until the pursuers returned, and the pursuers searched all along the way and found nothing.

But to the two men who had spied out the land, Joshua said,“ Go into the prostitute’s house and bring out from there the woman and all who belong to her, as you swore to her.”So the young men who had been spies went in and brought out Rahab and her father and mother and brothers and all who belonged to her. And they brought all her relatives and put them outside the camp of Israel.

Then Saul said to the Kenites,“ Go, depart; go down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them. For you showed kindness to all the people of Israel when they came up out of Egypt.” So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

And Joshua the son of Nun sent two men secretly from Shittim as spies, saying,“ Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” And they went and came into the house of a prostitute whose name was Rahab and lodged there.

If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!

The Lord has a sword; it is sated with blood; it is gorged with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

“ But no devoted thing that a man devotes to the Lord, of anything that he has, whether man or beast, or of his inherited field, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted thing is most holy to the Lord.No one devoted, who is to be devoted for destruction from mankind, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.

But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. And she said,“ True, the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from.And when the gate was about to be closed at dark, the men went out. I do not know where the men went. Pursue them quickly, for you will overtake them.”But she had brought them up to the roof and hid them with the stalks of flax that she had laid in order on the roof.

And Israel vowed a vow to the Lord and said,“ If you will indeed give this people into my hand, then I will devote their cities to destruction.”And the Lord heeded the voice of Israel and gave over the Canaanites, and they devoted them and their cities to destruction. So the name of the place was called Hormah.

and that if anyone did not come within three days, by order of the officials and the elders all his property should be forfeited, and he himself banned from the congregation of the exiles.
