“我们的祖先在旷野有作证的帐幕，就是跟摩西谈话的那位指示他，依照他看见的样式做的。我们的祖先相继承受了这帐幕，神把外族人从他们面前赶走以后，他们就同约书亚把帐幕带进所得为业的地方，直到大卫的日子。

但对那些蒙召的人，不论是犹太人或希腊人，基督是神的能力，神的智慧。因为神的愚笨总比人智慧，神的软弱总比人刚强。

耶和华啊，求你起来，求你和你有能力的约柜同入安息的居所。

于是嫩的儿子约书亚把祭司召了来，对他们说：“你们要抬起约柜；并派七个祭司拿着七个羊角，走在耶和华约柜的前面。”

“你们要把这律法书，放在耶和华你们的神的约柜旁，可以在那里作反对你们的见证，

吩咐人民说：“你们看见耶和华你们的神的约柜，又看见抬约柜的利未支派的祭司的时候，就要从你们所住的地方出发，跟在约柜后面走。

当那些日子，你们在这地繁衍增多的时候，人必不再提说耶和华的约柜，不把它放在心上，不思念它，不觉得缺少，也不再制造。’这是耶和华的宣告。

约书亚又吩咐祭司说：“你们要抬起约柜，在人民前面过河去。”于是他们抬起约柜，走在人民的前面。

里面有金香坛，有全部包金的约柜，柜里有盛着吗哪的金罐、亚伦那发过芽的杖和两块约板。
