約書亞謂民曰、以色列之上帝耶和華云、古昔爾祖亞伯拉罕、及拿鶴之父他拉、居於河東、崇事他神、

約書亞告民曰、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、亙古爾祖亞伯拉罕及拿鶴之父他拉、居大河東、服事他上帝。

約書亞告民眾曰、主以色列之天主如是云、古昔爾曹列祖、其中亞伯拉罕與拿鶴之父他拉、居河東、崇事他神、

Joshua said to all the people,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ Long ago your ancestors, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.

Joshua spoke to all the people. He said,“ The Lord is the God of Israel. He says,‘ Long ago your people lived east of the Euphrates River. They worshiped other gods there. Your people included Terah. He was the father of Abraham and Nahor.

And Joshua said to all the people,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel,‘ Long ago, your fathers lived beyond the Euphrates, Terah, the father of Abraham and of Nahor; and they served other gods.

Joshua said to the people,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Long ago your ancestors, including Terah, the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River, and they worshiped other gods.

Joshua said to all the people,“ This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says:‘ Long ago your ancestors, including Terah, the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.

Joshua said to all the people,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ Long ago your ancestors, including Terah, the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.

And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time,[ even] Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.

Joshua told all the people,“ Here is what the LORD God of Israel says:‘ In the distant past your ancestors lived beyond the Euphrates River, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor. They worshiped other gods,

Joshua said to all the people,“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,‘ Your fathers lived of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor. They served other gods.

但願亞伯拉罕的神、拿鶴的神，就是他們父親的神，在我們中間判斷。”雅各就指著他父親以撒所敬畏的神起誓。

現在你既然渴想你的父家，一定要回去，為甚麼又偷我的神像呢？”

如果你們認為事奉耶和華不好，那麼今日你們就可以選擇你們所要事奉的：是你們列祖在大河那邊事奉的神呢，還是你們現在所住亞摩利人之地的神呢？至於我和我家，我們必事奉耶和華。”

他們就把自己手中所有外族人的神像，和自己耳朵上的環子，都交給雅各；雅各把這些東西埋在示劍附近的橡樹底下。

當時拉班剪羊毛去了，拉結就偷了他父親的神像。

你們要瞻仰你們的祖宗亞伯拉罕，他們也要瞻仰那生你們的撒拉。亞伯拉罕獨自一人的時候，我呼召了他，賜福給他，使他有很多子孫。

然後你要在耶和華你的神面前說：‘我的祖先原是個飄泊流亡的亞蘭人；他下到埃及，在那裡寄居；他人數稀少，在那裡卻成了又大又強、人數又多的國。

你要說：‘主耶和華對耶路撒冷這樣說：你的根源和出生地是在迦南地；你的父親是亞摩利人，你的母親是赫人。

至於你的神像，你在誰身上搜出來，那人就不該活著；你當著我們眾兄弟面前查一查，如果在我這裡有甚麼東西是你的，你只管拿去。”原來雅各不知拉結偷了神像。

他拉活到七十歲，就生了亞伯蘭、拿鶴和哈蘭。以下是他拉的後代：他拉生亞伯蘭、拿鶴和哈蘭；哈蘭生羅得。哈蘭在他父親他拉之前，死在他出生之地，就是迦勒底的吾珥。亞伯蘭和拿鶴都娶了妻子；亞伯蘭的妻子名叫撒萊；拿鶴的妻子名叫密迦，是哈蘭的女兒；哈蘭是密迦和亦迦的父親。撒萊不能生育，沒有孩子。他拉帶著他的兒子亞伯蘭和他的孫子，就是哈蘭的兒子羅得，以及他的媳婦亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊，一同出了迦勒底的吾珥，要到迦南地去；他們到了哈蘭，就住在那裡。他拉死在哈蘭；他的壽數共二百零五歲。耶和華對亞伯蘭說：“你要離開本地、本族、父家，到我指示你的地方去。
