伯示麦人说：“谁能在这位圣洁的神耶和华面前站立得住呢？应该请他离开我们上谁那里去呢？”

唯有万军之耶和华必因公正受尊崇，至圣的神必因公义显为圣。

你们当尊崇耶和华我们的神，当在他的脚凳前下拜，他是至圣者！

你们当尊崇耶和华我们的神，当在他的圣山下拜，因为耶和华我们的神是至圣者！

他们彼此呼喊说：“圣哉！圣哉！圣哉！万军之耶和华！他的荣耀充满全地。”因呼喊者的声音，门槛的根基震动，殿里充满了烟云。那时我说：“我有祸了，我要灭亡了！因为我是个嘴唇不洁净的人，住在嘴唇不洁净的民众当中；又因为我亲眼看见了大君王万军之耶和华。”

“一个人不能服事两个主人。他不是厌恶这个、喜爱那个，就是忠于这个、轻视那个。你们不能既服事神，又服事财富。

娜娥米说：“看哪，你嫂子已经回到她的族人和她的神那里去了，你也随着你嫂子回去吧！”

因此我向以利家起了誓：‘以利家的罪孽是永远不能用祭物或供物来赎清的。’”

以色列的圣者主耶和华如此说：“你们得救在于悔改和安息，你们得力在于平静和信靠。”你们却不肯接受，

枝条枯干时，必被折断，妇女要来，拿去烧火。因为这百姓愚昧，所以造他们的必不怜悯他们，塑造他们的必不恩待他们。

你们要离开这道，转离这路，不要在我们面前再提以色列的圣者了！”

不，我是说，外邦人所献的祭是献给鬼魔的，不是献给神的；而我不愿意你们成为与鬼魔有份的人。你们不能既喝主的杯，又喝鬼魔的杯；不能既吃主的筵席，又吃鬼魔的筵席。难道我们要激起主的嫉恨吗？难道我们比他更强吗？

有一大群人与耶稣同行。他转过身来对他们说：“如果有人到我这里来，而不恨自己的父亲、母亲、妻子、儿女、兄弟、姐妹，甚至自己的生命，他就不能做我的门徒。凡是不背着自己的十字架来跟从我的，也不能做我的门徒。“你们当中到底有谁想盖一座楼，不先坐下来计算费用，看自己是否能够完成呢？免得立好了地基，却不能完工，看见的人都开始嘲笑他，说：‘这个人开始盖了，却不能完工！’“或者，有哪一个君王要出去和别的君王交战，不先坐下来考虑是否能够用一万兵去迎战那用两万兵来攻打他的呢？否则，就会趁着他还远的时候，差派特使去求问和平的事宜。同样，你们当中任何人，如果不向自己所拥有的一切告别，就不能做我的门徒。
