“ But if you do at all go back, and hold fast to the remnant of these nations, even these who remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you;

你們若斷然轉離，緊緊跟隨你們中間所剩下的這些國家，彼此結親，互相往來，

你們若斷然轉離，緊緊跟隨你們中間所剩下的這些國家，彼此結親，互相往來，

如果你們悖逆，跟你們當中剩下的異族人聯合，通婚往來，

如果你們轉離耶和華，與你們中間剩下的這些國家的餘民聯絡，和他們通婚，互相來往，

你們若稍微轉離，去緊依附着這些在你們中間剩下來的餘留之國的人，而和他們彼此結親，攙雜通婚，

爾若轉而合於爾中遺民、與之嫁娶往來、

如爾反是、恆從爾中遺民、與之嫁娶往來、

如爾違背、而與爾中所遺之民聯絡、與之嫁娶往來、往來或作相雜

“ But if you turn away and ally yourselves with the survivors of these nations that remain among you and if you intermarry with them and associate with them,

“ But suppose you turn away from him. You mix with the people who are left alive in the nations that remain among you. Later, you and they get married to each other. And you do other kinds of things with them.

For if you turn back and cling to the remnant of these nations remaining among you and make marriages with them, so that you associate with them and they with you,

“ But if you turn away from him and cling to the customs of the survivors of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry with them,

If you ever turn away and become loyal to the rest of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry or associate with them and they with you,

For if you ever go back and cling to the rest of these nations, these which remain with you, and intermarry with them, so that you associate with them and they with you,

Or else, if indeed you do go back, and cling to the remnant of these nations— these that remain among you— and make marriages with them, and go in to them and they to you,

Else if ye do at all go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you;

For if you turn away and cling to the rest of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry or associate with them and they with you,

Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations,[ even] these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:

But if you ever turn away and make alliances with these nations that remain near you, and intermarry with them and establish friendly relations with them,

You shall not make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to his son, nor shall you take his daughter for your son.

those who have turned back from following Yahweh, and those who haven’t sought Yahweh nor inquired after him.

Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation.”

which you have commanded by your servants the prophets, saying,‘ The land, to which you go to possess it, is an unclean land through the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, through their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their filthiness.Now therefore don’t give your daughters to their sons. Don’t take their daughters to your sons, nor seek their peace or their prosperity forever; that you may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children forever.’

Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?What agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what portion does a believer have with an unbeliever?What agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. Even as God said,“ I will dwell in them and walk in them. I will be their God and they will be my people.”Therefore“‘ Come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord.‘ Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you.

In those days I also saw the Jews who had married women of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab;and their children spoke half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews’ language, but according to the language of each people.I contended with them, and cursed them, and struck certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God,“ You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons, or for yourselves.Didn’t Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? Yet among many nations there was no king like him, and he was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless foreign women caused even him to sin.

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

But as for those who turn away to their crooked ways, Yahweh will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be on Israel.

For, uttering great swelling words of emptiness, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by licentiousness, those who are indeed escaping from those who live in error;promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for a man is brought into bondage by whoever overcomes him.For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.But it has happened to them according to the true proverb,“ The dog turns to his own vomit again,” and“ the sow that has washed to wallowing in the mire.”

When Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as the heart of David his father was.

His soul joined to Dinah, the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the young lady, and spoke kindly to the young lady.

Now when these things were done, the princes came near to me, saying,“ The people of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, following their abominations, even those of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy offspring have mixed themselves with the peoples of the lands. Yes, the hand of the princes and rulers has been chief in this trespass.”

Be careful, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be for a snare among you;but you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and you shall cut down their Asherah poles;for you shall worship no other god; for Yahweh, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.“ Don’t make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, lest they play the prostitute after their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and one call you and you eat of his sacrifice;and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods, and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He has ceased to be wise and to do good.

of the nations concerning which Yahweh said to the children of Israel,“ You shall not go among them, neither shall they come among you; for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.” Solomon joined to these in love.

Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken Yahweh. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.

They didn’t destroy the peoples, as Yahweh commanded them,but mixed themselves with the nations, and learned their works.

“ But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, should he live? None of his righteous deeds that he has done will be remembered. In his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die.

At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.

He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness even until now.

When he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.Saul took him that day, and wouldn’t let him go home to his father’s house any more.Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.
