Watch yourselves carefully! Love the LORD your God!

You must love the LORD your God with your whole mind, your whole being, and all your strength.These words I am commanding you today must be kept in mind,and you must teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up.You should tie them as a reminder on your forearm and fasten them as symbols on your forehead.Inscribe them on the doorframes of your houses and gates.Then when the LORD your God brings you to the land he promised your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to give you– a land with large, fine cities you did not build,houses filled with choice things you did not accumulate, hewn out cisterns you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant– and you eat your fill,be careful not to forget the LORD who brought you out of Egypt, that place of slavery.

Guard your heart with all vigilance, for from it are the sources of life.

But if someone loves God, he is known by God.

“ But be on your guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day close down upon you suddenly like a trap.

See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that no one be like a bitter root springing up and causing trouble, and through him many become defiled.

Let anyone who has no love for the Lord be accursed. Our Lord, come!

And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose,

Therefore be very careful how you live– not as unwise but as wise,

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit,maintain yourselves in the love of God, while anticipating the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life.

and showing covenant faithfulness to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Again, however, pay very careful attention, lest you forget the things you have seen and disregard them for the rest of your life; instead teach them to your children and grandchildren.
