Then they buried the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the grave of his father Kish; So they did everything that the king commanded, and after that God responded to prayer for the land.

Then the border went up the Valley of Ben hinnom to the slope of the Jebusite on the south( that is, Jerusalem); and the border went up to the top of the mountain which is opposite the Valley of Hinnom to the west, which is at the end of the Valley of Rephaim toward the north.

Then Samuel set out and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul counted the people who were present with him, about six hundred men.Now Saul, his son Jonathan, and the people who were present with them were staying in Geba of Benjamin while the Philistines camped at Michmash.

Saul also went to his house in Gibeah; and the valiant men whose hearts God had touched went with him.

They have gone through the pass, saying,“ Geba will be our encampment for the night.” Ramah is terrified, and Gibeah of Saul has fled.

Since the days of Gibeah you have sinned, Israel; There they stand! Will the battle against the sons of injustice not overtake them in Gibeah?

However, his master said to him,“ We will not turn aside into a city of foreigners who are not of the sons of Israel; instead, we will go on as far as Gibeah.”And he said to his servant,“ Come, and let’s approach one of these places; and we will spend the night in Gibeah or Ramah.”So they passed along and went their way, and the sun set on them near Gibeah which belongs to Benjamin.They turned aside there to enter and spend the night in Gibeah. When they entered, they sat down in the public square of the city, for no one took them into his house to spend the night.

To a larger group you shall increase their inheritance, and to a smaller group you shall decrease their inheritance; each shall be given their inheritance corresponding to the total of those who were numbered of them.

So the Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered and said,“ I came with my concubine to spend the night at Gibeah which belongs to Benjamin.But the citizens of Gibeah rose up against me and surrounded the house at night, threatening me. They intended to kill me; instead, they raped my concubine so that she died.

Then the border went down to the edge of the hill which is in the Valley of Ben hinnom, which is in the Valley of Rephaim northward; and it went down to the Valley of Hinnom, to the slope of the Jebusite southward, and went down to En rogel.

Now as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not drive them out; so the Jebusites live with the sons of Judah in Jerusalem to this day.

You shall maintain the land as an inheritance by lot according to your families; to the larger you shall give more inheritance, and to the smaller you shall give less inheritance. Wherever the lot falls to anyone, that shall be his. You shall pass on land as an inheritance according to the tribes of your fathers.

And David said on that day,“ Whoever strikes the Jebusites is to reach those who limp and those who are blind, who are hated by David’s soul, through the water tunnel.” For that reason they say,“ People who are blind and people who limp shall not come into the house.”
