至于住在耶路撒冷的耶布斯人，犹大人不能把他们赶走；所以耶布斯人在耶路撒冷与犹大人同住，直到今日。

就要把所有的居民从你们面前赶出去，毁坏他们的一切雕像，以及一切铸像，又拆毁他们的一切邱坛。你们要占领那地，住在那里，因为我已经把那地赐给你们作产业。你们要按着家族抽签承受那地作产业；人多的，要把产业多分给他们；人少的，要把产业少分给他们；抽签抽出那地归谁，就归谁；你们要按着宗族支派承受产业。如果你们不把那地的居民从你们面前赶出去，所留下的人就必成为你们眼中的刺，肋旁的荆棘，在你们所住的地方扰害你们；并且我原计划怎样待他们，也要怎样待你们。’”

可是他们没有把住在基色的迦南人赶走，于是迦南人住在以法莲中间，直到今日，成了作苦工的奴仆。

所以，不要容罪在你们必死的肉身上掌权，使你们顺从肉身的私欲，也不要把你们的肢体献给罪，作不义的用具；倒要像出死得生的人，把自己献给神，并且把你们的肢体献给神作义的用具。罪必不能辖制你们，因为你们不是在律法之下，而是在恩典之下。
