他們回答約書亞說：「因為確實有人告訴你的僕人，耶和華－你的神曾吩咐他的僕人摩西，把這全地賜給你們，並要在你們面前除滅這地所有的居民。我們因你們的緣故很怕自己喪命，就做了這事。

耶和華將拉吉交在以色列人的手裏。第二日約書亞就奪了拉吉，用刀擊殺了城中所有的人，正如他向立拿一切所做的。
