永恆主你的上帝必將他們交在你面前，使他們大大驚慌潰亂，直到他們都消滅。

就在那一天，約書亞就攻取了瑪基大，用刀擊殺了城中的人和王，將他們和其中一切人口、盡行殺滅歸神，沒有留下一個殘存的；他處置瑪基大王、就像處置耶利哥王一樣。

一隊向伯和崙進發，一隊向那眺望洗波音谷境地之路向、向曠野進發。

撒母耳正獻燔祭的時候，非利士人上前來要和以色列人爭戰；那一天永恆主以大雷的聲音發雷霆，使非利士人潰亂，非利士人就在以色列人面前被擊敗，以色列人從米斯巴出來，追趕非利士人，擊殺他們直到伯甲的下邊。撒母耳將一塊石頭安放在米斯巴與耶沙拿之間，給石頭起名叫以便以謝，說：『這是永恆主幫助我們的證據。』

因為我們列祖不是靠自己的刀劍而取得地土，不是他們自己的膀臂得勝，乃是你的右手、你的膀臂、和你聖容之光輝、所作成的；因為你喜悅了他們。
