To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit.

耶和華啊，你把我的靈魂從陰間帶上來，使我存活，不至於下到陰坑！

看哪！我受盡苦痛，是對我有益的；是你在愛中保全我的靈魂脫離滅亡之坑，是你把我的一切罪都拋在你的背後。

在群山被安置以先、岡陵被安置之前，我已經誕生。那時耶和華還沒有造大地、田野，也沒有造世上最初的塵土。在他確立諸天時，我在那裡——他在淵面上立定圓穹，他布置天上的雲朵，使深淵的泉眼噴湧；他為海洋設立界限，使眾水不能違背他的吩咐；他立定了大地的根基——

因為你不會把我的靈魂撇棄在陰間，也不會讓你的聖者經歷腐朽。

誰曾用手心測量眾水，用手掌度量諸天呢？誰曾用升斗盛量大地的塵土，用秤稱量群山，用天平稱量岡陵呢？

神哪，你必使惡人下到滅亡的深坑裡！那些殺人流血、行詭詐的人，必活不過半生；至於我，我要依靠你。

眾水向上漫過群山，向下流入山谷，歸到你為它們指定的地方。

耶和華啊，求你快快回應我，我的靈衰竭了！不要向我隱藏你的臉，免得我與下陰坑的人一樣。

你以大能束腰，以自己的能力堅立群山。

因為神使耶穌復活，已經為我們這些做他們兒女的成全了這應許，正如詩篇第二篇也記著：『你是我的兒子，我今天生了你。』至於神使耶穌從死人中復活、不再歸於腐朽的事，神曾這樣說過：『我要把給大衛的那聖潔、信實的祝福賜給你們。』所以在另外一處也說：『你不會讓你的聖者經歷腐朽。』就是說，大衛雖然在自己的世代，遵行了神的計劃之後就睡了，歸到他祖先那裡，並且經歷了腐朽，但是神使之復活的那一位，沒有經歷腐朽。

「我死亡下到陰坑，有什麼好處呢？難道塵土會稱謝你，宣告你的信實嗎？

你使深淵的水如同衣袍遮蓋大地，眾水高過群山。
