and he said,“ I called out of my distress to the Lord, And He answered me. I called for help from the depth of Sheol; You heard my voice.

曰、我遭患難、籲耶和華、即蒙俞允、我自陰府之腹呼號、爾聽我聲、

我遭患難、呼籲耶和華、蒙爾憶念、余自陰府號呼、望爾垂聽、

曰、我遭患難、呼求主、蒙主應允、我自示阿勒示阿勒有譯黃泉有譯陰府之深處籲禱、主俯聞我聲、

He said:“ In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.

He said,“ When I was in trouble, I called out to the Lord. And he answered me. When I was deep in the place of the dead, I called out for help. And you listened to my cry.

saying,“ I called out to the Lord, out of my distress, and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice.

He said,“ I cried out to the Lord in my great trouble, and he answered me. I called to you from the land of the dead, and Lord, you heard me!

I called to the LORD in my distress, and he answered me. I cried out for help from deep inside Sheol; you heard my voice.

And he said:“ I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, And He answered me.“ Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice.

And he said, I called by reason of mine affliction unto Jehovah, And he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I, And thou heardest my voice.

I called to the Lord in my distress, and He answered me. I cried out for help in the belly of Sheol; You heard my voice.

And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I,[ and] thou heardest my voice.

and said,“ I called out to the LORD from my distress, and he answered me; from the belly of Sheol I cried out for help, and you heard my prayer.

He said,“ I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice.

I cried to the Lord in my trouble, And He answered me.

The ropes of death encompassed me, And the torrents of destruction terrified me.The ropes of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry for help before Him came into His ears.

This wretched man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

Lord, the God of my salvation, I have cried out by day and in the night before You.Let my prayer come before You; Incline Your ear to my cry!For my soul has had enough troubles, And my life has approached Sheol.I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I have become like a man without strength,Abandoned among the dead, Like the slain who lie in the grave, Whom You no longer remember, And they are cut off from Your hand.You have put me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in the depths.Your wrath has rested upon me, And You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah

Also, David was in great distress because the people spoke of stoning him, for all the people were embittered, each one because of his sons and his daughters. But David felt strengthened in the Lord his God.

For Your graciousness toward me is great, And You have saved my soul from the depths of Sheol.

For He has not despised nor scorned the suffering of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from him; But when he cried to Him for help, He heard.

And being in agony, He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground].

In the days of His humanity, He offered up both prayers and pleas with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His devout behavior.

The snares of death encompassed me And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.

Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.

For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; You will not allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed; and he divided the people who were with him, and the flocks, the herds, and the camels, into two companies;for he said,“ If Esau comes to the one company and attacks it, then the company which is left will escape.”Then Jacob said,“ God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, Lord, who said to me,‘ Return to your country and to your relatives, and I will make you prosper,’I am unworthy of all the favor and of all the faithfulness, which You have shown to Your servant; for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan, and now I have become two companies.Save me, please, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau; for I fear him, that he will come and attack me and the mothers with the children.For You said,‘ I will assuredly make you prosper and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which is too great to be counted.’ ”

I cry out with my voice to the Lord; With my voice I implore the Lord for compassion.I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him.When my spirit felt weak within me, You knew my path. In the way where I walk They have hidden a trap for me.

for just as Jonah was in the stomach of the sea monster for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

You who hear prayer, To You all mankind comes.

For You will not abandon my soul to Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

Then Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak.When the man saw that he had not prevailed against him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was dislocated while he wrestled with him.Then he said,“ Let me go, for the dawn is breaking.” But he said,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”So he said to him,“ What is your name?” And he said,“ Jacob.”Then he said,“ Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have contended with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

Sheol below is excited about you, to meet you when you come; It stirs the spirits of the dead for you, all the leaders of the earth; It raises all the kings of the nations from their thrones.

Do not consider your bond servant a useless woman, for I have spoken until now out of my great concern and provocation.”
