約拿從魚的肚腹中向耶和華他的神禱告，

Then Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish’s belly.

Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly,

Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish’s belly.

They shut me up in a pit and threw stones at me.The waters closed over my head; I thought I was about to die.ק( Qof)I have called on your name, O LORD, from the deepest pit.You heard my plea:“ Do not close your ears to my cry for relief!”

From the deep water I cry out to you, O LORD.O Lord, listen to me! Pay attention to my plea for mercy!

Even if he slays me, I will hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face!

When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble; I will rescue him and bring him honor.

So the LORD brought against them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria. They seized Manasseh, put hooks in his nose, bound him with bronze chains, and carried him away to Babylon.In his pain Manasseh asked the LORD his God for mercy and truly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.When he prayed to the LORD, the LORD responded to him and answered favorably his cry for mercy. The LORD brought him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh realized that the LORD is the true God.

Pray to me when you are in trouble! I will deliver you, and you will honor me!”

O LORD, in distress they looked for you; they uttered incantations because of your discipline.

Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone in good spirits? He should sing praises.

Receiving such orders, he threw them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the rest of the prisoners were listening to them.

Then I will return again to my lair until they have suffered their punishment. Then they will seek me; in their distress they will earnestly seek me.“ Come on! Let’s return to the LORD! He himself has torn us to pieces, but he will heal us! He has injured us, but he will bandage our wounds!He will restore us in a very short time; he will heal us in a little while, so that we may live in his presence.So let us acknowledge him! Let us seek to acknowledge the LORD! He will come to our rescue as certainly as the appearance of the dawn, as certainly as the winter rain comes, as certainly as the spring rain that waters the land.”
