So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.

船长来到约拿那里，对他说：“你竟敢沉睡！起来，向你的神呼求！或许你的神会顾念我们，使我们不致灭亡。”

船主到他那裏對他說：「你這沉睡的人哪，為何這樣呢？起來，求告你的神，或者神顧念我們，使我們不致滅亡。」

船長到他那裏，對他說：「你怎麼還在沉睡呢？起來，求告你的神明，或者神明顧念我們，使我們不致滅亡。」

於是船長去找他，對他說：『沉睡的人哪，你為甚麼這樣？起來，呼求你的神，或者那神想念到我們，使我們不至於滅亡啊。』

船長來到約拿那裡，對他說：「你竟敢沉睡！起來，向你的神呼求！或許你的神會顧念我們，使我們不致滅亡。」

舟長就之曰、睡者歟、奚若此、其起禱爾神、庶神眷念我儕、免致死亡、

船長就之曰、何為酣睡、盍醒而起、禱爾之上帝、庶乎上帝眷顧我儕、以免死亡。

The captain went to him and said,“ How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.”

The captain went down to him and said,“ How can you sleep? Get up and call out to your god for help! Maybe he’ll pay attention to what’s happening to us. Then we won’t die.”

So the captain came and said to him,“ What do you mean, you sleeper? Arise, call out to your god! Perhaps the god will give a thought to us, that we may not perish.”

So the captain went down after him.“ How can you sleep at a time like this?” he shouted.“ Get up and pray to your god! Maybe he will pay attention to us and spare our lives.”

The captain approached him and said,“ What are you doing sound asleep? Get up! Call to your god. Maybe this god will consider us, and we won’t perish.”

So the captain approached him and said,“ How is it that you are sleeping? Get up, call on your god! Perhaps your god will be concerned about us so that we will not perish.”

So the captain came to him, and said to him,“ What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish.”

The captain approached him and said,“ What are you doing sound asleep? Get up! Call to your god. Maybe this god will consider us, and we won’t perish.”

So the ship master came to him, and said to him,“ What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God! Maybe your God will notice us, so that we won’t perish.”

Who knoweth whether God will not turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish justice in the gate: it may be that Jehovah, the God of hosts, will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help.Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saved them out of their distresses.

And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who knoweth whether Jehovah will not be gracious to me, that the child may live?

And there ariseth a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the boat, insomuch that the boat was now filling.And he himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion: and they awake him, and say unto him, Teacher, carest thou not that we perish?And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.And he said unto them, Why are ye fearful? have ye not yet faith?And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Then Paul answered, What do ye, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he delivered them out of their distresses,

When he slew them, then they inquired after him; And they returned and sought God earnestly.

who say to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face; but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

And this, knowing the season, that already it is time for you to awake out of sleep: for now is salvation nearer to us than when we first believed.

Their soul abhorreth all manner of food; And they draw near unto the gates of death.Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saveth them out of their distresses.He sendeth his word, and healeth them, And delivereth them from their destructions.

Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast in like manner; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

what mean ye that ye crush my people, and grind the face of the poor? saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

And Jehovah uttereth his voice before his army; for his camp is very great; for he is strong that executeth his word; for the day of Jehovah is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.He maketh the storm a calm, So that the waves thereof are still.

Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.

What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?
