有人坐船下海，在大水上經營事務；這些人看見永恆主的作為，永恆主在深海上所行的奇事。他吩咐一聲，狂風就起立，海中的波浪就揚起。他們上到天空，下到深淵底，他們的神魂都因危難而消失。他們搖搖晃晃，東倒西歪，好像醉酒的人；他們的技能都被吞沒於無用。於是他們在急難中喊求永恆主帶領他們脫出他們的窘迫；永恆主就使狂風低微下來，海的波浪就平靜無聲。風平浪靜，他們便歡喜；他就引領他們到所願去的埠頭。但願人因永恆主的堅愛而稱讚他；因他向人類所行的奇事而頌讚他。

『因為你看，那塑造了山、創造了風、將「心意如何」指示人、使晨光變為幽暗、腳踏地之山丘的、萬軍之上帝永恆主耶和華是他的名。

海裏忽然起了大風暴，甚至船都給波浪掩蓋着；耶穌卻逕自睡着。門徒上前來叫醒了他、說：『主啊，援救哦！我們喪命啦！』耶穌對他們說：『小信的人哪，為甚麼膽怯？』便起來，斥責風和海，就大大平靜了。那些人都希奇說：『這是甚麼樣的人啊？連風跟海也聽從他！』

他使雲霧從地儘邊上騰，他造電隨着雨而閃，叫風從他的府庫中吹出。

有風從永恆主那裏往前吹，把鵪鶉由海面颳來，使牠們橫臥在營旁，這邊約有一天的路程，那邊約有一天的路程，就在營的四圍，離地面約有二肘。

但你一吹氣，海就淹沒他們，他們就像鉛沉沒於壯闊水中。

摩西向海伸手，永恆主便終夜用極強的東風使海退去；他使海成了旱地；水也裂開了。

南風微微地吹着，大家以為目的已經把握住了，便起了錨，沿着革哩底航行，貼近着海岸。過不多時、有一種東北颱風叫友拉革羅撲下來。船被掣住了，不能頂着風，我們便把船放棄，任它飄蕩着。我們貼着一個小島叫高大的背風岸奔行，僅僅能把持住了艇子。水手們既把艇子拉上來，就用纜索捆住船的下部；又恐怕撞在賽耳底沙灘上，就縋下船具，這樣地任它飄蕩着。我們被風浪逼得極緊，次日眾人就直進行拋出貨物的事；第三天便親手把船上的用具也拋棄了。好多天不見有太陽，也不見有星星，又有不小的暴風雨緊逼着，從此我們得救的指望就被奪了去了。

摩西就向埃及地伸了手杖，那天一整天、那夜一整夜、永恆主引了東風到那地來；到了早晨，東風把蝗蟲都颳了來。

永恆主轉了極強勁的西風，把蝗蟲颳了起來，吹進蘆葦海；在埃及四境、連一個蝗蟲也沒有剩下。
