他們有些人坐船出海，在大海上往來經商。他們見過耶和華的作為，和他在深海中所行的奇事。他一吩咐，狂風就颳起，海中的波浪也高揚。他們上到天上，下到深淵，他們的心因危難而驚慌。他們搖搖晃晃，東倒西歪，好像醉酒的人；他們的一切智慧都沒有用了。於是他們在急難中呼求耶和華，他就拯救他們脫離困苦。他使狂風止息，海浪就平靜無聲。風平浪靜了，他們就歡喜；他引領他們到他們所願去的港口。願人因耶和華的慈愛，和他向世人所行的奇事稱謝他。

看哪！他造了山，創造了風，把他的心意告訴人；他使晨光變為黑暗，他的腳踏在地的高處，耶和華萬軍的神就是他的名。

忽然海上起了狂風，甚至船都被波濤掩蓋，但耶穌卻睡著了。他們走來把他叫醒，說：“主啊！救命啊！我們沒命了！”耶穌卻對他們說：“小信的人哪！為甚麼害怕呢？”他就起來斥責風和海，風浪就完全平靜了。眾人都驚奇，說：“這是甚麼人，連風和海也聽從他？”

他使雲霧從地極上升，發出閃電隨雨而來，又從他的府庫吹出風來。

有風從耶和華那裡吹起，把鵪鶉由海面颳來，散落在營地；鵪鶉在營的四周，這邊約有一天的路程，那邊約有一天的路程，離地面約有一公尺。

你用風一吹，海就把他們淹沒，他們就像鉛一樣沉在大水之中。

摩西向海伸手，耶和華就用極強的東風，一夜之間使海水退去；他使海變成乾地，海水也分開了。

這時南風徐徐地吹來，他們以為風勢有利，就起錨沿著克里特航行。可是過了不久，有一股名叫“友拉革羅”（“友拉革羅”意即“東北風”）的颶風，向島上吹襲。船給風困住了，不能迎風前行，只好隨著風向飄流。有一個小島名叫高達，我們就在這島的背風岸急航，好不容易才把救生艇拉住。水手把艇拉上來，用纜索繞過船身捆好。他們怕船在賽耳底擱淺，就收下船帆，任船飄流。風浪把我們顛簸得很厲害，第二天他們就把貨物拋在海裡，第三天又親手把船上的用具扔掉。好幾天，都看不見星星和太陽，狂風大浪催逼著我們，這樣看來，我們連生還的希望都沒有了。

摩西就向埃及地伸杖，整整的一日一夜，耶和華把東風吹在地上；到了早晨，東風把蝗蟲吹來了。

耶和華轉了非常強大的西風，把蝗蟲吹起來了，投進紅海裡；在埃及全境，連一隻蝗蟲也沒留下。
