此後，彼得在約帕一個製皮工人西門的家裡住了許多日子。

“他施人因你各樣豐富的財物，就作你的貿易夥伴；他們用銀、鐵、錫和鉛來換取你的貨物。

耶和華對撒但說：“好吧，他所有的一切都交在你手中，只是不可以伸手害他。”於是撒但從耶和華面前退去。

摩西說：“主啊，請你差派你願意差派的人。”耶和華向摩西發怒，說：“不是有你的哥哥利未人亞倫嗎？我知道他是有口才的；他現在出來要迎接你。他看見了你，心裡就快樂。

但保羅認為不應帶他去，因為他從前在旁非利亞離開過他們，不跟他們一起去作工。

靈使我升起，把我提去。那時我心靈忿激、愁苦。耶和華的手強而有力臨到我身上。

耶穌說：“手扶著犁向後看的，不適合進神的國。”

當主來的時候，他們要受永遠沉淪的懲罰，就是離開主的面和他權能的榮光。在那一天，他要在聖徒身上得著榮耀，又要在所有信徒身上受到尊崇（你們也在他們當中，因為你們信了我們向你們所作的見證）。

我到哪裡去躲避你的靈？我往哪裡去逃避你的面呢？如果我升到天上，你在那裡；如果我在陰間下榻，你也在那裡。如果我展開清晨的翅膀，飛到海的極處居住，就是在那裡，你的手仍必引導我，你的右手也必扶持我。如果我說：“願黑暗遮蓋我，願我周圍的亮光變成黑夜。”但對你來說，黑暗也不算是黑暗，黑夜必如同白晝一樣發亮，黑暗和光明，在你看來都是一樣的。

於是撒但從耶和華面前退去，擊打約伯，使他從腳掌到頭頂都生了毒瘡。

攻擊所有他施的船隻，和所有美麗的船。

我們必照著你所需要的，從黎巴嫩砍下樹木，紮成木筏，從海上運到約帕，你可以從那裡把它們運上耶路撒冷。”

天起涼風的時候，那人和他的妻子聽見耶和華神在園中行走的聲音，就藏在園子的樹林中，躲避耶和華神的面。

以利亞害怕，就起來，逃命去了。他到了猶大的別是巴，就把自己的僕人留在那裡。

眾海島的人都必等候我，他施的船隊領先，把你的眾子，連他們的金銀，都一起從遠方帶來，都為了耶和華你的神的名，又為了以色列的聖者的緣故，因為他已經榮耀了你。
