有些人乘船在汪洋大海上经商，他们看见了耶和华的作为，看见了祂在深海所行的奇事。祂一声令下，狂风大作，巨浪滔天。他们的船只忽而被抛向半空，忽而落入深渊，他们吓得面无人色，东倒西歪，如同醉汉，束手无策。于是，他们在患难中呼求耶和华，耶和华便拯救他们脱离困境。祂使狂风止息，海浪平静。他们因风平浪静而欢喜，祂带领他们到所向往的港湾。他们当称谢耶和华的慈爱，称谢祂为世人所行的奇事。

看啊，那位造山又造风，向人显明祂的心意，将黎明变为黑暗，将群山踩在脚下的——祂的名字是万军之上帝耶和华。

忽然，湖面上狂风大作，波涛汹涌，船快要被巨浪吞没，耶稣却在睡觉。门徒连忙叫醒耶稣，说：“主啊，救命！我们快淹死了！”耶稣答道：“你们的信心太小了，为什么害怕呢？”于是祂起来斥责风和浪，风浪就完全平静了。门徒很惊奇，说：“祂究竟是什么人？连风浪都听祂的！”

祂使云雾从地极上升，发出电光，带来雨水，从祂的仓库带出风来。

耶和华刮起一阵风，把鹌鹑从海面刮到营地四周，达一米之厚，方圆数公里。

你叫风一吹，海水就淹没他们，他们好像铅块一样沉没在怒海中。

摩西向海伸出手，耶和华便整夜用强劲的东风吹退海水，将海底变成干地。海水分开后，

那时，南风徐徐吹来，他们以为可以按计划继续航行，于是起锚沿着克里特行进。可是出发不久，便遇到从岛上刮来的猛烈的东北风，船被刮得失去控制，我们只好任船随风漂流。船沿着一个叫高达的小岛的背风面前进，大家好不容易才控制住救生船。水手把救生船拉上甲板后，又用绳索加固船身。因为怕船会在赛耳底搁浅，于是收起船帆，任船漂流。第二天，风浪依然猛烈，他们开始把货物抛进海里。第三天，他们又亲手把船上的用具也抛掉了。一连好几天都看不到太阳、星辰，风浪肆虐，我们完全放弃了得救的指望。

摩西就向埃及伸杖。耶和华使东风在埃及境内刮了整整一天一夜，到早晨，东风带来了蝗虫。

耶和华就把风向倒转，变成猛烈的西风，把蝗虫刮走，吹进红海。埃及境内一只蝗虫也没留下。
