約拿怎樣三日三夜在大魚的腹中，人子也要照樣三日三夜在地裡。

約拿怎樣成了尼尼微人的神蹟，人子也照樣成為這個世代的神蹟。

邪惡和淫亂的世代要尋求神蹟，除了約拿的神蹟之外，不會有甚麼神蹟給它了。”耶穌就離開他們走了。

那裡有海，又大又廣；海裡有無數的活物，大小活物都有。那裡有船隻往來航行，有你所造的大魚，在海裡嬉戲。

耶和華啊！我聽見你的聲音，懼怕你的作為；求你在這些年間復興，在這些年間彰顯，發怒的時候以憐憫為懷。

於是，神創造了大魚和在水中滋生各種能活動的生物，各從其類；又創造了各種有翅膀的飛鳥，各從其類。神看這是好的。

耶和華神安排一棵蓖麻，使它長起來高過約拿，成了陰影遮蓋他的頭，免他受苦；約拿因這棵蓖麻，就大大歡暢。
