汪洋浩瀚，充满了无数的大小水族，船只往来于海上，你造的鲸鱼也在水中嬉戏。

耶和华啊，我听过你的威名；耶和华啊，我对你的作为充满敬畏。求你如今再次彰显你的作为，求你发怒的时候仍以怜悯为念。

上帝就造了海中的大鱼等各类水族和各类禽鸟。上帝看了，感到满意。

后来，耶和华上帝安排了一棵蓖麻迅速地长起来，为约拿遮荫，使他的头免受日晒。约拿因有这棵蓖麻而非常欢喜。
