門徒過來喚醒耶穌，說：「主啊，主啊！我們快淹死了！」耶穌醒來，就斥責風浪，頓時風平浪靜了。

祂使狂風止息，海浪平靜。

你掌管洶湧的大海，平息驚濤駭浪。

耶和華啊，大海澎湃怒吼，波浪滔天。高天之上的耶和華充滿力量，超過咆哮的洪水和怒吼的大海。

他把埃亞的女兒利斯巴為掃羅所生的兩個兒子亞摩尼、米非波設和掃羅女兒米拉為米何拉人巴西萊的兒子亞得列所生的五個兒子交給基遍人。基遍人在耶和華面前把他們七人吊死在山上，那時正好是收割大麥的時候。

約書亞和全體以色列人把謝拉家族的亞干、那些銀子、衣服和金子及其兒女、牛、驢、羊、帳篷和一切所有都帶到亞割谷。約書亞對亞干說：「你為什麼給我們惹禍呢？今天耶和華要降禍給你。」於是，以色列人便拿石頭打死了他和他一切的人畜，將其燒毀。他們在亞干身上堆起一大堆石頭，那些石頭今天還在。耶和華這才息怒，因此那地方至今還叫亞割谷。

耶穌答道：「你們信心太小了，為什麼害怕呢？」於是祂起來斥責風和浪，風浪就完全平靜了。

又平息怒海狂濤，止息列邦的喧囂。
