是日也、昏暗晦冥、密雲深厚、有一族至、既大且強、勢若晨光布於山上、自古迄今、未有若此者、歷至萬世亦無之、

是日晦冥、幽深玄遠、異族將至、既強且眾、有若黎明、豁然開朗、自古迄今、至於後世、未有若是之甚、

為幽暗晦冥之日、密雲黑雲之日、異族將至、既強且眾、勢若晨光、鋪於山巔、自古以來、未有若是者、斯後及於世世、亦必無有若是者、

Woe to those who wish for the day of the LORD! Why do you want the LORD’s day of judgment to come? It will bring darkness, not light.Disaster will be inescapable, as if a man ran from a lion only to meet a bear, then escaped into a house, leaned his hand against the wall, and was bitten by a poisonous snake.Don’t you realize the LORD’s day of judgment will bring darkness, not light– gloomy blackness, not bright light?

The LORD’s great day of judgment is almost here; it is approaching very rapidly! There will be a bitter sound on the LORD’s day of judgment; at that time warriors will cry out in battle.That day will be a day of God’s anger, a day of distress and hardship, a day of devastation and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and dark skies,

The earth quakes before them; the sky reverberates. The sun and the moon grow dark; the stars refuse to shine.The voice of the LORD thunders as he leads his army. When one looks out over the land, he sees distress and darkness, gloom and anxiety, darkness and people forced from the land.

He says to himself,“ I will never be upended, because I experience no calamity.”

The locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and settled down in all the territory of Egypt. It was very severe; there had been no locusts like them before, nor will there be such ever again.

Listen to this, you elders; pay attention, all inhabitants of the land. Has anything like this ever happened in your whole life or in the lifetime of your ancestors?Tell your children about it, have your children tell their children, and their children the following generation.

Crowds, great crowds are in the valley of decision, for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision!The sun and moon are darkened; the stars withhold their brightness.

Remember the ancient days; bear in mind the years of past generations. Ask your father and he will inform you, your elders, and they will tell you.

The people kept their distance, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.

For here he is! He formed the mountains and created the wind. He reveals his plans to men. He turns the dawn into darkness and marches on the heights of the earth. The LORD, the God who commands armies, is his name!”

For you have not come to something that can be touched, to a burning fire and darkness and gloom and a whirlwind

Dark clouds surround him; equity and justice are the foundation of his throne.

At that time they will growl over their prey, it will sound like sea waves crashing against rocks. One will look out over the land and see the darkness of disaster, clouds will turn the light into darkness.

For in those days there will be suffering unlike anything that has happened from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, or ever will happen.

Show the LORD your God the respect that is due him. Do it before he brings the darkness of disaster. Do it before you stumble into distress like a traveler on the mountains at twilight. Do it before he turns the light of deliverance you hope for into the darkness and gloom of exile.
