Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand—

Priests, blow the trumpets in Zion. Give a warning on my holy mountain. Let everyone who lives in the land tremble with fear. The day of the Lord is coming. It is very near.

Sound the trumpet in Jerusalem! Raise the alarm on my holy mountain! Let everyone tremble in fear because the day of the Lord is upon us.

The LORD said,“ Announce this in Judah and proclaim it in Jerusalem:‘ Sound the trumpet throughout the land!’ Shout out loudly,‘ Gather together! Let us flee into the fortified cities!’

For the culmination of all things is near. So be self- controlled and sober- minded for the sake of prayer.

You will be convinced that I the LORD am your God, dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem will be holy– conquering armies will no longer pass through it.

How awful that day will be! For the day of the LORD is near; it will come as destruction from the Divine Destroyer.

a day of trumpet blasts and battle cries. Judgment will fall on the fortified cities and the high corner towers.

Blow the trumpet in Zion. Announce a holy fast; proclaim a sacred assembly!

“ For the day of the LORD is approaching for all the nations! Just as you have done, so it will be done to you. You will get exactly what your deeds deserve.

If an alarm sounds in a city, do people not fear? If disaster overtakes a city, is the LORD not responsible?

When you blow an alarm, then the camps that are located on the east side must begin to travel.And when you blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that are located on the south side must begin to travel. An alarm must be sounded for their journeys.But when you assemble the community, you must blow, but you must not sound an alarm.The sons of Aaron, the priests, must blow the trumpets; and they will be to you for an eternal ordinance throughout your generations.If you go to war in your land against an adversary who opposes you, then you must sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.

My hand made them; that is how they came to be,” says the LORD. I show special favor to the humble and contrite, who respect what I have to say.

Blow the ram’s horn in Gibeah! Sound the trumpet in Ramah! Sound the alarm in Beth Aven! Tremble in fear, O Benjamin!

“ You should fear me!” says the LORD.“ You should tremble in awe before me! I made the sand to be a boundary for the sea, a permanent barrier that it can never cross. Its waves may roll, but they can never prevail. They may roar, but they can never cross beyond that boundary.”

You also be patient and strengthen your hearts, for the Lord’s return is near.

The LORD’s great day of judgment is almost here; it is approaching very rapidly! There will be a bitter sound on the LORD’s day of judgment; at that time warriors will cry out in battle.

Sound the alarm! An eagle looms over the temple of the LORD! For they have broken their covenant with me, and have rebelled against my law.

“ Look, the day! Look, it is coming! Doom has gone out! The staff has budded, pride has blossomed!

Hear the word of the LORD, you who respect what he has to say! Your countrymen, who hate you and exclude you, supposedly for the sake of my name, say,“ May the LORD be glorified, then we will witness your joy.” But they will be put to shame.

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord will come in the same way as a thief in the night.

Indeed, the LORD who commands armies has planned a day of judgment, for all the high and mighty, for all who are proud– they will be humiliated;

Therefore tell them,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: I hereby end this proverb; they will not recite it in Israel any longer.’ But say to them,‘ The days are at hand when every vision will be fulfilled.

When I heard this report, I tore my tunic and my robe and ripped out some of the hair from my head and beard. Then I sat down, quite devastated.Everyone who held the words of the God of Israel in awe gathered around me because of the unfaithful acts of the people of the exile. Devastated, I continued to sit there until the evening offering.

“ This is what the sovereign LORD says: A disaster– a one-of-a-kind disaster– is coming!An end comes– the end comes! It has awakened against you– the end is upon you! Look, it is coming!Doom is coming upon you who live in the land! The time is coming, the day is near. There are sounds of tumult, not shouts of joy, on the mountains.

So then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, continue working out your salvation with awe and reverence,

The LORD’s city is in the holy hills.

( 3: 19)“ For indeed the day is coming, burning like a furnace, and all the arrogant evildoers will be chaff. The coming day will burn them up,” says the LORD who rules over all.“ It will not leave even a root or branch.

But suppose the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people. Then the sword comes and takes one of their lives. He is swept away for his iniquity, but I will hold the watchman accountable for that person’s death.’

I have issued an edict that throughout all the dominion of my kingdom people are to revere and fear the God of Daniel.“ For he is the living God; he endures forever. His kingdom will not be destroyed; his authority is forever.

“ When you tell these people about all this, they will undoubtedly ask you,‘ Why has the LORD threatened us with such great disaster? What wrong have we done? What sin have we done to offend the LORD our God?’

All Israel brought up the ark of the LORD’s covenant; they were shouting, blowing trumpets, sounding cymbals, and playing stringed instruments.

The Lord says,‘ I have returned to Zion and will live within Jerusalem. Now Jerusalem will be called“ truthful city,”“ mountain of the LORD who rules over all,”“ holy mountain.”’

In that day you will not be ashamed of all your rebelliousness against me, for then I will remove from your midst those who proudly boast, and you will never again be arrogant on my holy hill.

My body trembles because I fear you; I am afraid of your judgments.ע( Ayin)

While I was still speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and presenting my request before the LORD my God concerning his holy mountain–

He said,“ What do you see, Amos?” I replied,“ A basket of summer fruit.” Then the LORD said to me,“ The end has come for my people Israel! I will no longer overlook their sins.

He sees the sword coming against the land, blows the trumpet, and warns the people,

O Lord, according to all your justice, please turn your raging anger away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain. For due to our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors, Jerusalem and your people are mocked by all our neighbors.

No one will take any food to those who mourn for the dead to comfort them. No one will give them any wine to drink to console them for the loss of their father or mother.

When they blow them both, all the community must come to you to the entrance of the tent of meeting.

The time has come; the day has struck! The customer should not rejoice, nor the seller mourn; for divine wrath comes against their whole crowd.
