異族犯境、強而且眾、不可勝數、其齒若牡獅、

A nation has invaded my land, a mighty army without number; it has the teeth of a lion, the fangs of a lioness.

The locusts are like a mighty army that has marched into our land. There are so many of them they can’t even be counted. Their teeth are as sharp as a lion’s teeth. They are like the fangs of a female lion.

For a nation has come up against my land, powerful and beyond number; its teeth are lions’ teeth, and it has the fangs of a lioness.

A vast army of locusts has invaded my land, a terrible army too numerous to count. Its teeth are like lions’ teeth, its fangs like those of a lioness.

A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness. As the dawn spreading on the mountains, a great and strong people; there has never been the like, neither will there be any more after them, even to the years of many generations.A fire devours before them, and behind them, a flame burns. The land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them, a desolate wilderness. Yes, and no one has escaped them.Their appearance is as the appearance of horses, and they run as horsemen.Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains, they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devours the stubble, like a strong people set in battle array.At their presence the peoples are in anguish. All faces have grown pale.They run like mighty men. They climb the wall like warriors. They each march in his line, and they don’t swerve off course.Neither does one jostle another; they march everyone in his path, and they burst through the defenses, and don’t break ranks.They rush on the city. They run on the wall. They climb up into the houses. They enter in at the windows like thieves.The earth quakes before them. The heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.Yahweh thunders his voice before his army; for his forces are very great; for he is strong who obeys his command; for the day of Yahweh is great and very awesome, and who can endure it?

The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people’s faces.They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like those of lions.They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, or of many horses rushing to war.They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.

It will sweep onward into Judah. It will overflow and pass through. It will reach even to the neck. The stretching out of its wings will fill the width of your land, Immanuel.

Thorns and briers will come up on my people’s land; yes, on all the houses of joy in the joyous city.

There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, and their jaws like knives, to devour the poor from the earth, and the needy from among men.

The ants are not a strong people, yet they provide their food in the summer.The hyraxes are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks.The locusts have no king, yet they advance in ranks.

They won’t dwell in Yahweh’s land; but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean food in Assyria.
