那時猶大眾人都站在永恆主面前，連他們的小孩和妻子兒女也都一起站着。

從頭一天直到末一天、以斯拉天天誦讀着上帝的律法書。眾人都過了節七天；第八天照典章有聖節會。

以色列的後裔跟一切外人的子孫分別了出來，他們都站着、承認自己的罪和他們列祖的罪愆。那天四分之一他們立在他們所站的地方，誦讀永恆主他們的上帝的律法書；又四分之一他們是認罪，敬拜永恆主他們的上帝。
