祭司啊，你们当腰束麻布痛哭；伺候祭坛的啊，你们要哀号；侍奉我神的啊，你们要来披上麻布过夜，因为素祭和奠祭从你们神的殿中断绝了。

祭司啊，当束上麻布痛哭；事奉祭坛的啊，要哀号；事奉我上帝的啊，你们要来，披上麻布过夜，因为在你们上帝的殿中不再有素祭和浇酒祭了。

Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn; wail, you who minister before the altar. Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you who minister before my God; for the grain offerings and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God.

Priests, put on the clothing of sadness and mourn. Cry, you who serve at the altar. Come, you who serve my God in the temple. Spend the night dressed in the clothes of sadness. Weep because no one brings grain offerings and drink offerings to the house of your God anymore.

Put on sackcloth and lament, O priests; wail, O ministers of the altar. Go in, pass the night in sackcloth, O ministers of my God! Because grain offering and drink offering are withheld from the house of your God.

Dress yourselves in burlap and weep, you priests! Wail, you who serve before the altar! Come, spend the night in burlap, you ministers of my God. For there is no grain or wine to offer at the Temple of your God.

哀哦，像處女腰束麻布哦，為年少時的未婚夫哀號哦。素祭奠祭都從永恆主殿中斷絕了；伺候永恆主的祭司都悲哀着。

因此你們當腰束麻布，慟哭哀號；因為永恆主的烈怒並沒有向我們轉消。』

尼尼微人信了上帝，便宣告禁食，從最大的到至小的都穿着麻衣。這消息傳到尼尼微王那裏，他就從寶座上起來，脫下朝服，披上麻布，坐在爐灰中。又出通告傳遍尼尼微說：『王和大臣有諭旨說：人和牲口、牛羣羊羣、甚麼都不可嘗，草不可喫，水也不可喝。人和牲口都要披上麻布；要極力呼求上帝；各人要回轉過來、離開他的壞行徑，丟棄手中的強暴；

亞哈聽見了這些話，就撕裂衣服，身穿麻布，禁食，睡在麻布上，垂頭喪氣地走來走去。

伺候永恆主的祭司須要在廊子和祭壇之間哭泣，說：『永恆主啊，顧惜你人民哦！不要讓你的產業被羞辱，而在列國中令人談笑哦。為甚麼容人在列族之民中譏刺說：「他們的上帝在哪裏呢？」』

『為了山嶺、你們要哭泣舉哀，為了野地的草場、你們要揚聲唱哀歌；因為都已倒壞，無人經過；牲畜的聲音都聽不到；無論空中的飛鳥、以至地上走獸、全都逃跑了。』

他們用麻布束腰，戰慄發抖把他們淹沒了；各人的臉面都羞愧，各人的頭都光禿。

因為這些話所說到的那一位、原是屬於別的支派、其中並沒有一個人伺候過祭壇的。很顯然的、我們的主是從猶大支派升起來的；而論猶大支派、摩西並沒有講到祭司的事。

他使我們能夠做新的約之僕役：不是文字上的約，乃是靈的約；因為文字能害死人，靈卻能使人活。

大衛就為這孩子求問上帝；苦苦地禁食，進入內室，穿着麻布，躺在地上。

所以人應當這樣把我們看為基督的差事，做上帝之奧祕事的管家。

豈不知為聖事作工的、喫殿中之物麼？侍候祭壇的、跟祭壇分物麼？

我們乃是在各樣事上證明自己作為上帝的僕役：用大堅忍、在苦難艱難困迫中、

你要將這些東西作的素祭帶到永恆主面前，交給祭司，讓他拿到祭壇前。祭司要從這素祭中把它的表樣部分取出來、燻在祭壇上、做怡神香氣之火祭、獻與永恆主。素祭中的餘留部分要歸於亞倫和他的子孫：這是獻與永恆主的火祭中之至聖的。

這些是在月初的燔祭和跟燔祭同獻的素祭、不斷獻的燔祭和跟這燔祭同獻的素祭、以及照典章跟這些祭牲同獻的奠祭以外獻上、作為怡神之香氣、做火祭獻與永恆主的。

他們是基督的僕役麼？瘋狂地說吧，我更是。論勞苦、更繁多；論鞭打、屢過次數；論坐監、更多次；論冒死、屢次有。

你們呢、倒要稱為永恆主的祭司；人必稱你們為伺候我們的上帝的；你們必喫用列國的資財，必因得到他們的財寶而矜誇。
