Why do you not pardon my offenses and forgive my sins? For I will soon lie down in the dust; you will search for me, but I will be no more.”

If I sinned, then you would watch me and you would not acquit me of my iniquity.

Many of those who sleep in the dusty ground will awake– some to everlasting life, and others to shame and everlasting abhorrence.

LORD, do not be too angry! Do not hold our sins against us continually! Take a good look at your people, at all of us!

and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the life’s breath returns to God who gave it.

But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness.

David felt guilty after he had numbered the army. David said to the LORD,“ I have sinned greatly by doing this! Now, O LORD, please remove the guilt of your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.”

A person’s life is like grass. Like a flower in the field it flourishes,

And when he is carried to the tombs, and watch is kept over the funeral mound,The clods of the torrent valley are sweet to him; behind him everybody follows in procession, and before him goes a countless throng.

But then one passes by, and suddenly they have disappeared! I looked for them, but they could not be found.

There is no other God like you! You forgive sin and pardon the rebellion of those who remain among your people. You do not remain angry forever, but delight in showing loyal love.You will once again have mercy on us; you will conquer our evil deeds; you will hurl our sins into the depths of the sea.

He gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are truly his, who are eager to do good.

How many are my iniquities and sins? Show me my transgression and my sin.Why do you hide your face and regard me as your enemy?

“ We have blatantly rebelled; you have not forgiven.”ס( Samek)You shrouded yourself with anger and then pursued us; you killed without mercy.You shrouded yourself with a cloud so that no prayer can get through.

Why do you keep on forgetting us? Why do you forsake us so long?Bring us back to yourself, O LORD, so that we may return to you; renew our life as in days before,unless you have utterly rejected us and are angry with us beyond measure.

Your dead will come back to life; your corpses will rise up. Wake up and shout joyfully, you who live in the ground! For you will grow like plants drenched with the morning dew, and the earth will bring forth its dead spirits.
