约伯的三个朋友提幔人以利法、书亚人比勒达和拿玛人琐法听到他的不幸遭遇，便各自从家乡动身，相约一起来探望、安慰他。

“祂使我的弟兄远离我，我的熟人完全背弃我。我的亲属离开我，我的挚友忘记我。

骆驼喝过水以后，老总管拿出一只约六克重的金环和一对约一百一十克重的金镯给利百加，

我会对你们讲鼓励的话，用劝慰之言减轻你们的痛苦。

我何尝对你们说过，‘请你们供应我，把你们的财产给我一份，从仇敌手中拯救我，从残暴之徒手中救赎我’？

你的话使人免于跌倒，你使颤抖的膝硬朗。

很多犹太人来看玛大和玛丽亚，为她们兄弟的事来安慰她们。

所以，你们要举起下垂的手，挺直发酸的腿，

他的儿女都来安慰他，他却不肯接受他们的安慰，说：“我一定会凄凄惨惨地下到阴间，去我儿子那里。”约瑟的父亲为他哀哭。

要设身处地地顾念那些被囚禁的人，要感同身受地顾念那些遭遇苦难的人。

以色列人把从埃及带出来的约瑟的骸骨葬在示剑，在从前雅各用一百块银子向哈抹的子孙买的那块地里。哈抹是示剑的父亲。后来那块地成了约瑟子孙的产业。

但有一些市井之徒说：“这人怎能救我们？”就鄙视他，没有送礼物给他，但扫罗没有说什么。

如果身体某个肢体感到痛苦，全身也一同受苦。如果某个肢体得到荣耀，全身也一同喜乐。

要与喜乐的人同乐，与哀哭的人同哭。

人所行的若蒙耶和华喜悦，耶和华必使仇敌与他和好。

然后拿出金银首饰和衣裳送给利百加，又把贵重的礼物送给她的哥哥和母亲。

你们要使软弱的人强壮，使双腿无力的人站稳。要对胆怯的人说：“你们要刚强，不要惧怕。看啊，你们的上帝必来拯救你们，为你们复仇，施行报应。”
