Do you have an arm like God’s, and can your voice thunder like his?

Is your arm as powerful as mine is? Can your voice thunder as mine does?

Have you an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like his?

Do you have an arm like God’s? Can you thunder with a voice like his?

Then comes the roaring of the thunder— the tremendous voice of his majesty. He does not restrain it when he speaks.God’s voice is glorious in the thunder. We can’t even imagine the greatness of his power.

Powerful is your arm! Strong is your hand! Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength.

“ But you are wrong, and I will show you why. For God is greater than any human being.So why are you bringing a charge against him? Why say he does not respond to people’s complaints?

The more I thought about it, the hotter I got, igniting a fire of words:“ Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.” InterludeWe are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it.And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.Rescue me from my rebellion. Do not let fools mock me.I am silent before you; I won’t say a word, for my punishment is from you.

The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea. The God of glory thunders. The Lord thunders over the mighty sea.

You crushed the great sea monster. You scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

Would he use his great power to argue with me? No, he would give me a fair hearing.

“ Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O Lord, smashes the enemy.

What? Do we dare to rouse the Lord’s jealousy? Do you think we are stronger than he is?

For God is so wise and so mighty. Who has ever challenged him successfully?

“ What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying,‘ Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim,‘ How clumsy can you be?’
