天主使光明普照其上、且以覆海底、

“ Can you shout to the clouds and make it rain?Can you make lightning appear and cause it to strike as you direct?

“ Who created a channel for the torrents of rain? Who laid out the path for the lightning?

You placed the world on its foundation so it would never be moved.You clothed the earth with floods of water, water that covered even the mountains.At your command, the water fled; at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.Mountains rose and valleys sank to the levels you decreed.Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, so they would never again cover the earth.

So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side!

For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so it will be on the day when the Son of Man comes.

Then God said,“ Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear.” And that is what happened.

“ Who kept the sea inside its boundaries as it burst from the womb,and as I clothed it with clouds and wrapped it in thick darkness?For I locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores.I said,‘ This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’

Then the waters returned and covered all the chariots and charioteers— the entire army of Pharaoh. Of all the Egyptians who had chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived.
