有人因多遭虐待而歎息、緣被有勢者欺壓而呼號、

“人因多受欺压就哀求，因受能者的辖制便求救，

“人因多受欺压就哀求，因强权者的膀臂而求救。

“人们因饱受压迫而呼求，因强权者的压制而求救。

他们因多受欺压而呼叫，因受强权者的压制而呼求。

人因多受欺壓就哀求，因受能者的轄制便求救，

「人因多受欺壓就哀求，因強權者的膀臂而求救。

「人因多受欺壓就哀求，因強權者的膀臂而求救。

「人們因飽受壓迫而呼求，因強權者的壓制而求救。

他們因多受欺壓而呼叫，因受強權者的壓制而呼求。

『人因多受欺壓就哀呼：因受強者膀臂的轄制便呼救：

人因多虐而呼號、緣強者之臂而呼救、

人受困苦則嘆息、遭橫逆則呼號。

“ People cry out under a load of oppression; they plead for relief from the arm of the powerful.

“ People cry out when they are treated badly. They beg to be set free from the power of those who are over them.

“ Because of the multitude of oppressions people cry out; they call for help because of the arm of the mighty.

“ People cry out when they are oppressed. They groan beneath the power of the mighty.

People cry out because of severe oppression; they shout for help because of the power of the mighty.

“ Because of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help because of the arm of the mighty.

“ Because of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry out for help because of the arm of the mighty.

By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty.

People cry out because of severe oppression; they shout for help because of the arm of the mighty.

By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make[ the oppressed] to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

“ People cry out because of the excess of oppression; they cry out for help because of the power of the mighty.

歷年既久、伊及王卒、以色列人因服役甚苦、太息號呼、因服役呼籲、籲聲上達於天主、

虐待貪乏、使之呼籲天主、而天主垂聽其呼籲、

爾亦有臂有臂或作有能如天主乎、爾亦能如天主發雷聲乎、

願主挫折惡人之勢力、勢力原文作臂追究其惡、窮盡無遺、

主曰、貧苦人被虐、困窮人歎息、我將興起、救其脫於欺之之人、救其脫於欺之之人或作救彼慕救之人

天主素嘗護庇我、今因何遺棄我、因何使我受仇敵凌虐、時常悲哀、

求天主憐恤我、因有人忿然欲吞我、終日攻擊我、欺壓我、我仇敵終日欲吞我、逞驕傲以攻擊我者甚多、

民與其妻大號呼、怨其同族猶大人、或曰、我與子女人數甚多、當鬻子女以糴榖、食而得生、或曰、我當質田畝、葡萄園、宅第、以糴榖充饑、或曰、我已質田畝、葡萄園、貸銀以納王之稅、我身與同族之身無異、我子女與同族之子女無異、今不得已將子女鬻為奴婢、我女早有為婢者、贖之無力、蓋我田畝葡萄園、已為人所得、

其邑有一嫠婦、入見之曰、有仇我者、請伸我冤、士師久不允、後自思曰、我雖不畏天主、不禮世人、但此嫠婦屢煩我、必伸其冤、免其恆至擾我、主曰、爾聽此不義之士師所言、天主之選民、晝夜籲禱天主、其應允或遲、豈不終伸其冤乎、

城中居民歎息、被傷者中心悲哀、或作城中將死者歎息被戮者之靈鳴冤乃天主不顧此等罪惡、

使祭司陷於謬誤、或作使祭司被擄使掌權者顛倒傾覆、

求主俯聽我、應允我、我哀歎不安、發聲悲號、皆因仇敵之恐喝、惡人之凌虐、彼皆加害於我身、忿然痛恨我、

以色列人哀號已達於我前、其受伊及人之虐待、我亦鑒之、

主曰、我民居伊及、我見其苦、因受督役者虐待而號呼、已聞於我、我知其憂、
