我則應之曰、爾言此、不義矣、蓋上帝卓越於人、

爾言實悖乎理、我不能不辨、夫上帝卓越於人、

我駁爾言謬、蓋天主超超或作大乎世人、

“ But I tell you, in this you are not right, for God is greater than any mortal.

“ But I’m telling you that you aren’t right when you talk like that. After all, God is greater than any human being.

“ Behold, in this you are not right. I will answer you, for God is greater than man.

“ But you are wrong, and I will show you why. For God is greater than any human being.

But I tell you that you are wrong in this matter, since God is greater than man.

Behold, let me respond to you, you are not right in this, For God is greater than mankind.

“ Look, in this you are not righteous. I will answer you, For God is greater than man.

Behold, I will answer thee, in this thou art not just; For God is greater than man.

But I tell you that you are wrong in this matter, since God is greater than man.

Behold,[ in] this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.

Now in this, you are not right– I answer you, for God is greater than a human being.

His wisdom is profound, his power is vast. Who has resisted him and come out unscathed? (niv)

“ So listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do evil, from the Almighty to do wrong.He repays everyone for what they have done; he brings on them what their conduct deserves.It is unthinkable that God would do wrong, that the Almighty would pervert justice. (niv)

“ Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!” (niv)

“ Do you think this is just? You say,‘ I am in the right, not God.’ (niv)

He said,“ Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord.“ Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel. (niv)

“ God is mighty, but despises no one; he is mighty, and firm in his purpose. (niv)

One of you will say to me:“ Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will?”But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God?“ Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it,‘ Why did you make me like this?’”Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use? (niv)

And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?” (niv)

“ Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?Do you have an arm like God’s, and can your voice thunder like his? (niv)

“ I would like to reply to you and to your friends with you. (niv)

In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. (niv)

“ God is exalted in his power. Who is a teacher like him?Who has prescribed his ways for him, or said to him,‘ You have done wrong’? (niv)

I too will have my say; I too will tell what I know. (niv)

Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins. (niv)

Can someone who hates justice govern? Will you condemn the just and mighty One?Is he not the One who says to kings,‘ You are worthless,’ and to nobles,‘ You are wicked,’who shows no partiality to princes and does not favor the rich over the poor, for they are all the work of his hands? (niv)

God has no need to examine people further, that they should come before him for judgment. (niv)

“ Yet you say,‘ The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear, you Israelites: Is my way unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust? (niv)
