Yet no one would stretch out his hand against a ruined person when he cries out to him for help because of his distress.

“然而，人仆倒岂不伸手？遇灾难岂不求救呢？

“然而，人在废墟岂不伸手？遇灾难时一定呼救。

“然而，人在废墟岂不伸手？遇灾难时一定呼救。

“诚然，不幸的人在困境中呼救，无人会伸手加害他。

然而人跌倒，怎会不伸手？人遇灾祸，怎会不呼救呢？

然而，人仆倒豈不伸手？遇災難豈不求救呢？

「然而，人在廢墟豈不伸手？遇災難時一定呼救。

「然而，人在廢墟豈不伸手？遇災難時一定呼救。

「誠然，不幸的人在困境中呼救，無人會伸手加害他。

然而人跌倒，怎會不伸手？人遇災禍，怎會不呼救呢？

『然而人在荒堆、哪不伸手？人遇災禍、哪不因而呼救呢？

然人顚仆、豈不伸手、遇災豈不呼援、

上帝降災、使人喪亡、祈禱無益、呼籲無裨。

天主舉手、祈禱亦無益、天主降災於人、呼籲亦徒然、或作人傾仆之時豈不伸手求救乎人遇災之時豈不呼援乎

“ Surely no one lays a hand on a broken man when he cries for help in his distress.

“ No one would crush people when they cry out for help in their trouble.

“ Yet does not one in a heap of ruins stretch out his hand, and in his disaster cry for help?

“ Surely no one would turn against the needy when they cry for help in their trouble.

“ Yet does one in a heap of ruins not reach out with his hand, Or in his disaster does he not cry out for help?

“ Surely He would not stretch out His hand against a heap of ruins, If they cry out when He destroys it.

Howbeit doth not one stretch out the hand in his fall? Or in his calamity therefore cry for help?

Yet no one would stretch out his hand against a ruined man when he cries out to him for help because of his distress.

Howbeit he will not stretch out[ his] hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.

“ Surely one does not stretch out his hand against a broken man when he cries for help in his distress.

“ However doesn’t one stretch out a hand in his fall? Or in his calamity therefore cry for help?

Those who passed by were yelling insults at him, shaking their headsand saying,“ You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”In the same way the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked him and said,“ He saved others, but he cannot save himself! He is the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him.He trusts in God; let God rescue him now— if he takes pleasure in him! For he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”In the same way even the criminals who were crucified with him taunted him.

LORD, may all your enemies perish as Sisera did. But may those who love him be like the rising of the sun in its strength. And the land had peace for forty years.

I cry out,“ Violence!” but get no response; I call for help, but there is no justice.

Do not let them say in their hearts,“ Aha! Just what we wanted.” Do not let them say,“ We have swallowed him up!”
