我知道你要帶我去死亡之地，那是你為眾生所定的歸宿。

因為我知道你必使我歸回死地，到那為眾生所定的陰間聚宅。

我知爾必致我於死、入為羣生所定之室、

我知爾必致我於死、入億兆當歸之窀穸。

我知主必致我於死、使我入為萬人所定之陰宅、

I know you will bring me down to death, to the place appointed for all the living.

I know that you will bring me down to death. That’s what you have appointed for everyone.

And I know you are sending me to my death— the destination of all who live.

Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way; When the almond tree blossoms, The grasshopper is a burden, And desire fails. For man goes to his eternal home, And the mourners go about the streets.Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, Or the golden bowl is broken, Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, Or the wheel broken at the well.Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

The small and great are there, And the servant is free from his master.

For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing, And they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten.

Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.

‘ Your hands have made me and fashioned me, An intricate unity; Yet You would destroy me.

For we will surely die and become like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. Yet God does not take away a life; but He devises means, so that His banished ones are not expelled from Him.

It is all one thing; Therefore I say,‘ He destroys the blameless and the wicked.’

No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, And no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, And wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.

The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him; Everyone shall follow him, As countless have gone before him.
