“ But now those who are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I considered unworthy to put with my sheep dogs.

越至於今、年少於我者、反加訕笑、彼之父兄、自我視之、比之守羊之犬、不若也。

今也年少於我者訕笑我、其人之祖父、自我視之、不堪與守我群羊之犬同處、

“ But now they mock me, men younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to put with my sheep dogs.

“ But now those who are younger than I am make fun of me. I wouldn’t even put their parents with my sheep dogs!

“ But now they laugh at me, men who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.

“ But now I am mocked by people younger than I, by young men whose fathers are not worthy to run with my sheepdogs.

But now they mock me, men younger than I am, whose fathers I would have refused to put with my sheep dogs.

“ But now those who are younger than I mock me, Whose fathers I refused to put with the dogs of my flock.

“ But now they mock at me, men younger than I, Whose fathers I disdained to put with the dogs of my flock.

But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, Whose fathers I disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.

But now they mock me, men younger than I am, whose fathers I would have refused to put with my sheep dogs.

“ But now they mock me, those who are younger than I, whose fathers I disdained too much to put with my sheep dogs.

I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.

and said to them,“ You brought this man to me as one that perverts the people, and behold, having examined him before you, I found no basis for a charge against this man concerning those things of which you accuse him.

They clothed him with purple, and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him.They began to salute him,“ Hail, King of the Jews!”They struck his head with a reed, and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him.When they had mocked him, they took the purple off him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him.

Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him,“ Prophesy!” The officers struck him with the palms of their hands.

But in my adversity, they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together. The attackers gathered themselves together against me, and I didn’t know it. They tore at me, and didn’t cease.Like the profane mockers in feasts, they gnashed their teeth at me.

But the unpersuaded Jews took along some wicked men from the marketplace, and gathering a crowd, set the city in an uproar. Assaulting the house of Jason, they sought to bring them out to the people.

He went up from there to Bethel. As he was going up by the way, some youths came out of the city and mocked him, and said to him,“ Go up, you baldy! Go up, you baldy!”

The people stood watching. The rulers with them also scoffed at him, saying,“ He saved others. Let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, his chosen one!”

One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying,“ If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!”

Those who sit in the gate talk about me. I am the song of the drunkards.

But they all cried out together, saying,“ Away with this man! Release to us Barabbas!”—

One of them, a prophet of their own, said,“ Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”

“ He has put my brothers far from me. My acquaintances are wholly estranged from me.My relatives have gone away. My familiar friends have forgotten me.Those who dwell in my house and my maids consider me a stranger. I am an alien in their sight.I call to my servant, and he gives me no answer. I beg him with my mouth.My breath is offensive to my wife. I am loathsome to the children of my own mother.Even young children despise me. If I arise, they speak against me.All my familiar friends abhor me. They whom I loved have turned against me.

The young men saw me and hid themselves. The aged rose up and stood.The princes refrained from talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.The voice of the nobles was hushed, and their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth.

The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will behave himself proudly against the old man, and the wicked against the honorable.
