蓋貧乏孤獨、籲呼望救、我無不援手。

因我拯援哀呼之貧民、救護無助之孤子、

because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them.

That’s because I saved poor people who cried out for help. I saved helpless children whose fathers had died.

because I delivered the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to help him.

For I assisted the poor in their need and the orphans who required help.

For I rescued the poor who cried out for help, and the fatherless child who had no one to support him.

Because I delivered the poor who cried out, The fatherless and the one who had no helper.

Because I delivered the poor that cried, The fatherless also, that had none to help him.

For he will save the needy when he cries for help, The afflicted also, and him who has no helper.

One who shuts his ear to the outcry of the poor Will also call out himself, and not be answered.

A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy dwelling.

He executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and shows His love for the stranger by giving him food and clothing.

You shall not oppress any widow or orphan.If you oppress him at all, and if he does cry out to Me, I will assuredly hear his cry;and My anger will be kindled, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.

If I have lifted up my hand against the orphan, Because I saw I had support in the gate,

Is your wickedness not abundant, And is there no end to your guilty deeds?For you have seized pledges from your brothers without cause, And stripped people naked.You have given the weary no water to drink, And you have withheld bread from the hungry.But the earth belongs to the powerful man, And the one who is honorable dwells on it.You have sent widows away empty, And the strength of orphans has been crushed.

They push the needy aside from the road; The poor of the land have to hide themselves together.

Or have eaten my morsel alone, And the orphan has not shared it

For there were those who said,“ We, our sons, and our daughters are many; therefore let’s get grain so that we may eat and live.”And there were others who said,“ We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards, and our houses so that we might get grain because of the famine.”There also were those who said,“ We have borrowed money for the king’s tax on our fields and our vineyards.And now our flesh is like the flesh of our brothers, our children like their children. Yet behold, we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters are forced into bondage already, and we are helpless because our fields and vineyards belong to others.”Then I was very angry when I heard their outcry and these words.So I thought it over and contended with the nobles and the leading people, and said to them,“ You are lending at interest, each to his brother!” Therefore, I held a great assembly against them.And I said to them,“ We, according to our ability, have redeemed our Jewish brothers who were sold to the nations; now would you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us?” Then they were silent and could not find a word to say.So I said,“ The thing which you are doing is not good; should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the taunting of the nations, our enemies?And likewise I, my brothers, and my servants are lending them money and grain. Please, let’s do without this interest.Please, give back to them this very day their fields, their vineyards, their olive groves, and their houses, as well as the hundredth part of the money and of the grain, the new wine, and the oil that you are charging as interest from them.”Then they said,“ We will give it back and will require nothing from them; we will do exactly as you say.” So I called the priests and made them take an oath to act in accordance with this promise.I also shook out the front of my garment and said,“ So may God shake out every person from his house and from his possessions who does not keep this promise; just so may he be shaken out and emptied.” And all the assembly said,“ Amen!” And they praised the Lord. Then the people acted in accordance with this promise.

He pled the cause of the afflicted and the poor, Then it was well. Is that not what it means to know Me?” Declares the Lord.

How long will you judge unjustly And show partiality to the wicked? SelahVindicate the weak and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.Rescue the weak and needy; Save them from the hand of the wicked.

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

Rescue those who are being taken away to death, And those who are staggering to the slaughter, Oh hold them back!If you say,“ See, we did not know this,” Does He who weighs the hearts not consider it? And does He who watches over your soul not know it? And will He not repay a person according to his work?
