I would find out what he would answer me, and consider what he would say to me.

論到我呢、我給你們審斷、或是給人類的清算日審斷，在我看都是極小事。其實連我自己也不審斷自己呢。我良知上雖不覺得有甚麼可以自責的地方，我卻不因此就被斷為無罪。審斷我的乃是主。

這樣、你作原告，我就回答；或是讓我起訴說話，而你答覆我。我的愆尤罪惡有多少呢？求你使我知道我的過犯罪惡。

『我知道你萬事都能作，你的計畫都不能被攔阻。這是誰，以無知的話使你的旨意隱蔽不明呀？故此我所訴說的、我不明白：太奇妙的事、出於我所能知的以外。你請聽，我要說話；我問你，求你指示我。從前我只是耳聞到你，現在我卻親眼看到你；因此我溶化為無有了；我在塵土和爐灰中懊悔着。』

對上帝說：不要定我為惡；要指示我、你為甚麼竟和我爭辯。
