Yet he knows the way I have taken; when he has tested me, I will emerge as pure gold.

But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

But he knows every step I take. When he has tested me, I’ll come out as pure as gold.

“ But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.

so that the proven character of your faith— more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire— may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

I will put this third through the fire; I will refine them as silver is refined and test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say,‘ They are my people,’ and they will say,‘ The LORD is our God.’”

Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials,because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.

LORD, you have searched me and known me.You know when I sit down and when I stand up; you understand my thoughts from far away.You observe my travels and my rest; you are aware of all my ways.

For you, God, tested us; you refined us as silver is refined.

A crucible for silver, and a smelter for gold, and the LORD is the tester of hearts.

You have tested my heart; you have examined me at night. You have tried me and found nothing evil; I have determined that my mouth will not sin.

But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will be able to stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire and like launderer’s bleach.He will be like a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will present offerings to the LORD in righteousness.

By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. He received the promises and yet he was offering his one and only son,

Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, bearing this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness.

For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.

“ Please, LORD, remember how I have walked before you faithfully and wholeheartedly and have done what pleases you.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

I had heard reports about you, but now my eyes have seen you.Therefore, I reject my words and am sorry for them; I am dust and ashes.After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite,“ I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.Now take seven bulls and seven rams, go to my servant Job, and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. Then my servant Job will pray for you. I will surely accept his prayer and not deal with you as your folly deserves. For you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.”

He asked him the third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved that he asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He said,“ Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.”“ Feed my sheep,” Jesus said.

Remember that the LORD your God led you on the entire journey these forty years in the wilderness, so that he might humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.

For I have chosen him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just. This is how the LORD will fulfill to Abraham what he promised him.”
