When people are brought low and you say,‘ Lift them up!’ then he will save the downcast.

人使你降卑，你仍可说：必得高升；谦卑的人，神必然拯救。

当人降卑，你说：是因骄傲；眼目谦卑的人，上帝必然拯救。

当人降卑，你说：是因骄傲；眼目谦卑的人，神必然拯救。

人遭贬抑时，你说，‘使他们升高吧。’上帝就会拯救他们，

人谦卑的时候，你就说：‘升高吧！’眼中谦卑的他必拯救，

When people are brought low you will say,‘ Lift them up!’ Then God will help them.

For when they are humbled you say,‘ It is because of pride’; but he saves the lowly.

If people are in trouble and you say,‘ Help them,’ God will save them.

When others are humiliated and you say,“ Lift them up,” God will save the humble.

When they have brought you low, you will speak with confidence, And He will save the humble person.

When they cast you down, and you say,‘ Exaltation will come!’ Then He will save the humble person.

When they cast thee down, thou shalt say, There is lifting up; And the humble person he will save.

When others are humiliated and you say,“ Lift them up,” God will save the humble.

When[ men] are cast down, then thou shalt say,[ There is] lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

When people are brought low and you say‘ Lift them up!’ then he will save the downcast;

When they cast down, you will say,‘ be lifted up.’ He will save the humble person.

In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,“ God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:“ God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.

From six calamities he will rescue you; in seven no harm will touch you.In famine he will deliver you from death, and in battle from the stroke of the sword.You will be protected from the lash of the tongue, and need not fear when destruction comes.You will laugh at destruction and famine, and need not fear the wild animals.For you will have a covenant with the stones of the field, and the wild animals will be at peace with you.You will know that your tent is secure; you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing.You will know that your children will be many, and your descendants like the grass of the earth.You will come to the grave in full vigor, like sheaves gathered in season.“ We have examined this, and it is true. So hear it and apply it to yourself.”

Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.

Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar.

Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord.“ These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.

this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Take off the turban, remove the crown. It will not be as it was: The lowly will be exalted and the exalted will be brought low.A ruin! A ruin! I will make it a ruin! The crown will not be restored until he to whom it rightfully belongs shall come; to him I will give it.’

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:“ Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed:‘ God, I thank you that I am not like other people— robbers, evildoers, adulterers— or even like this tax collector.I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’“ But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said,‘ God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’“ I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

“ Because he loves me,” says the Lord,“ I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

For surely your enemies, Lord, surely your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured on me.My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries; my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.

For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy:“ I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.

I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you.

For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
