‘ surely our adversaries are cut down, And the fire consumes their remnant.’

曰、起而敵我者見絕、其餘為火所焚、

我仇見絕、其富有火盡燬之、

曰、我敵見絕、其貲財貲財或作富有火盡燬之、

‘ Surely our foes are destroyed, and fire devours their wealth.’

They say,‘ Our enemies are completely destroyed. Fire has burned up their wealth.’

saying,‘ Surely our adversaries are cut off, and what they left the fire has consumed.’

They will say,‘ See how our enemies have been destroyed. The last of them have been consumed in the fire.’

“ Surely our opponents are destroyed, and fire has consumed what they left behind.”

‘ Truly our enemies are eliminated, And fire has consumed their abundance.’

Saying, Surely they that did rise up against us are cut off, And the remnant of them the fire hath consumed.

“ Surely our opponents are destroyed, and fire has consumed what they left behind.”

Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.

‘ Surely our enemies are destroyed, and fire consumes their wealth.’

saying,‘ Surely those who rose up against us are cut off. The fire has consumed their remnant.’

He will not depart from darkness; The flame will dry out his branches, And by the breath of His mouth he will go away.

“ Look, I know your thoughts, And the schemes with which you would wrong me.For you say,‘ Where is the house of the prince? And where is the tent, The dwelling place of the wicked?’

Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens.

There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.And Jesus answered and said to them,“ Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

Does God subvert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert justice?If your sons have sinned against Him, He has cast them away for their transgression.

“ Remember now, who ever perished being innocent? Or where were the upright ever cut off?

He will restore that for which he labored, And will not swallow it down; From the proceeds of business He will get no enjoyment.For he has oppressed and forsaken the poor, He has violently seized a house which he did not build.

Total darkness is reserved for his treasures. An unfanned fire will consume him; It shall go ill with him who is left in his tent.

but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
