曰、起而敵我者見絕、其餘為火所焚、

我仇見絕、其富有火盡燬之、

曰、我敵見絕、其貲財貲財或作富有火盡燬之、

‘ Surely our foes are destroyed, and fire devours their wealth.’

Saying, Surely they that did rise up against us are cut off, And the remnant of them the fire hath consumed.

Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.

‘ Surely our enemies are destroyed, and fire consumes their wealth.’

Your iniquity teaches you what to say, and you choose the language of the crafty.Your own mouth condemns you, not I; your own lips testify against you.

Then out of the sky the Lord rained burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord.

At that time, some people came and reported to Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.And He responded to them,“ Do you think that these Galileans were more sinful than all Galileans because they suffered these things?No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as well!Or those 18 that the tower in Siloam fell on and killed— do you think they were more sinful than all the people who live in Jerusalem?No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as well!”

Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right?Since your children sinned against Him, He gave them over to their rebellion.

Consider: who has perished when he was innocent? Where have the honest been destroyed?

He must return the fruit of his labor without consuming it; he doesn’t enjoy the profits from his trading.For he oppressed and abandoned the poor; he seized a house he did not build.

Total darkness is reserved for his treasures. A fire unfanned by human hands will consume him; it will feed on what is left in his tent.

But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all.It will be like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
