有人至死心中痛苦，從未嘗過福樂的滋味；

有人至死心中苦痛，從未嚐過幸福的滋味。

有人到死的時候心裡痛苦，一生未嘗美食；

有人至死心裏愁苦，未曾嘗過福樂。

又有至死、心懷困苦、未嘗享福、

或至死、困苦盈懷、終不享福、

有人至死愁苦、終不享福、

Another dies in bitterness of soul, never having enjoyed anything good.

Others die while their spirits are bitter. They’ve never enjoyed anything good.

Another dies in bitterness of soul, never having tasted of prosperity.

Another person dies in bitter poverty, never having tasted the good life.

Yet another person dies with a bitter soul, having never tasted prosperity.

While another dies with a bitter soul, Never even tasting anything good.

And another dieth in bitterness of soul, And never tasteth of good.

Yet another person dies with a bitter soul, having never tasted prosperity.

And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.

And another man dies in bitterness of soul, never having tasted anything good.

Another dies in bitterness of soul, and never tastes of good.

“ Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.

Moreover He said to me,“ Son of man, surely I will cut off the supply of bread in Jerusalem; they shall eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and shall drink water by measure and with dread,that they may lack bread and water, and be dismayed with one another, and waste away because of their iniquity.

A man to whom God has given riches and wealth and honor, so that he lacks nothing for himself of all he desires; yet God does not give him power to eat of it, but a foreigner consumes it. This is vanity, and it is an evil affliction.

“ Why is light given to him who is in misery, And life to the bitter of soul,

So she said,“ As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

“ Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink your water with trembling and anxiety.

“ My soul loathes my life; I will give free course to my complaint, I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

The heart knows its own bitterness, And a stranger does not share its joy.

For,” said Hushai,“ you know your father and his men, that they are mighty men, and they are enraged in their minds, like a bear robbed of her cubs in the field; and your father is a man of war, and will not camp with the people.

“ What shall I say? He has both spoken to me, And He Himself has done it. I shall walk carefully all my years In the bitterness of my soul.O Lord, by these things men live; And in all these things is the life of my spirit; So You will restore me and make me live.Indeed it was for my own peace That I had great bitterness; But You have lovingly delivered my soul from the pit of corruption, For You have cast all my sins behind Your back.

When he is about to fill his stomach, God will cast on him the fury of His wrath, And will rain it on him while he is eating.

He will not allow me to catch my breath, But fills me with bitterness.
