不但如此，我看万事都毫无价值，因为认识我主基督耶稣最宝贵。我为祂失去了一切，我把失去的一切视为垃圾，好得到基督，与祂联合。我成为义人不是因为遵行律法，而是因为信靠基督。这义从上帝而来，以信为基础。我渴望认识基督和祂复活的大能，与祂一同受苦，甚至到死的地步，

人若赚得全世界，却丧失自己的生命，又有什么益处呢？人还能拿什么换回自己的生命呢？

“所以我告诉你们，不要为生活忧虑，如吃什么、喝什么，也不要为身体忧虑，如穿什么。难道生命不比饮食重要吗？身体不比穿着重要吗？

到那日，众人必把造来敬拜的金银偶像丢给田鼠和蝙蝠。耶和华使大地震动的时候，众人必躲进山洞和岩缝，逃避祂的愤怒和威荣。

其中有十个人对以实玛利说：“请不要杀我们，我们在田野里藏了许多大麦、小麦、油和蜜。”他就没有杀他们。

以斯帖回答说：“我若得到王的恩宠，王若愿意，就请王把我的性命和我本族人的性命赐给我——这是我所求的。因为我和我本族的人都被卖了，我们将被铲除、杀光、灭尽。如果只是卖我们为奴为婢，我会闭口不语，因为那样的痛苦不值得来打扰王。”

第二天，风浪依然猛烈，他们开始把货物抛进海里。第三天，他们又亲手把船上的用具也抛掉了。
