If I call to the grave,‘ You are my father’; To the maggot,‘ my mother and my sister’;

若对朽坏说：‘你是我的父’；对虫说：‘你是我的母亲姐妹’。

若对地府呼叫：‘你是我的父亲’，若对虫呼叫：‘你是我的母亲、姊妹’，

若对地府呼叫：‘你是我的父亲’，若对虫呼叫：‘你是我的母亲、姊妹’，

称坟墓为父亲，称蛆虫为母亲、姊妹，

我若对深坑说：‘你是我的父亲’，对虫说：‘你是我的母亲，我的姊妹’，

若對朽壞說：你是我的父；對蟲說：你是我的母親姊妹；

若對地府呼叫：『你是我的父親』，若對蟲呼叫：『你是我的母親、姊妹』，

若對地府呼叫：『你是我的父親』，若對蟲呼叫：『你是我的母親、姊妹』，

稱墳墓為父親，稱蛆蟲為母親、姊妹，

我若對深坑說：‘你是我的父親’，對蟲說：‘你是我的母親，我的姊妹’，

假使我對冥坑呼叫說：「你是我父親」，對蛆蟲說：「你是我母親，我姐妹」，

謂墓為父、謂蟲為母、為姊、

與朽腐為鄰、與蚯蚓同處、奚啻父母姊妹、

我若稱墓為父、稱蟲為母為姊、

if I say to corruption,‘ You are my father,’ and to the worm,‘ My mother’ or‘ My sister,’

Suppose I say to the grave,‘ You are like a father to me.’ And suppose I say to its worms,‘ You are like a mother or sister to me.’

if I say to the pit,‘ You are my father,’ and to the worm,‘ My mother,’ or‘ My sister,’

What if I call the grave my father, and the maggot my mother or my sister?

and say to corruption,“ You are my father,” and to the maggot,“ My mother” or“ My sister,”

If I say to corruption,‘ You are my father,’ And to the worm,‘ You are my mother and my sister,’

If I have said to corruption, Thou art my father; To the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister;

and say to corruption: You are my father, and to the maggot: My mother or my sister,

I have said to corruption, Thou[ art] my father: to the worm,[ Thou art] my mother, and my sister.

If I cry to corruption,‘ You are my father,’ and to the worm,‘ My Mother,’ or‘ My sister,’

if I have said to corruption,‘ You are my father;’ to the worm,‘ My mother,’ and‘ My sister,’

For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; You will not allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

A mother will forget him; The maggot feeds sweetly until he is no longer remembered. And injustice will be broken like a tree.

That he might live on eternally, That he might not undergo decay.

As for the fact that He raised Him from the dead, never again to return to decay, He has spoken in this way:‘ I will give you the holy and faithful mercies of David.’Therefore, He also says in another Psalm:‘ You will not allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.’For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, fell asleep, and was buried among his fathers and underwent decay;but He whom God raised did not undergo decay.

For You will not abandon my soul to Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of gladness with Your presence.’“ Brothers, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.So because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh suffer decay.

My skin turns black on me, And my bones burn with fever.

While I am decaying like a rotten thing, Like a garment that is moth eaten.

When he is carried to the grave, People will keep watch over his tomb.The clods of the valley will gently cover him; Moreover, all mankind will follow after him, While countless others go before him.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body;

Together they lie down in the dust, And maggots cover them.

For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.But when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written:“ Death has been swallowed up in victory.

Your pride and the music of your harps Have been brought down to Sheol; Maggots are spread out as your bed beneath you And worms are your covering.’

Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I will see God,
