多言多語難免有過；節制嘴唇是有智慧。

「灰心的人，他的朋友當以慈愛待他，因為他將離棄敬畏全能者的心。

所以約伯開口說虛妄的話，多多發表無知識的言語。」

愚昧人多有話語。人不知將來會發生甚麼事，他身後的事誰能告訴他呢？

從那裏經過的人譏笑他，搖着頭，說：「你這拆毀殿、三日又建造起來的，救救你自己吧！如果你是神的兒子，就從十字架上下來呀！」

這素來歡樂、安然居住的城，心裏說：「惟有我，除我以外再沒有別的」，現在竟然荒涼，成為野獸躺臥之處！凡經過的人都必搖着手嗤笑它。

「惟願我的煩惱被秤一秤，我一切的災害放在天平裏，現今都比海沙更重，所以我說話急躁。因全能者的箭射中了我，我的靈喝盡其毒；神的驚嚇擺陣攻擊我。野驢有草豈會叫喚？牛有飼料豈會吼叫？

「這許多的話豈不該回答嗎？多嘴多舌的人豈可成為義呢？

要與喜樂的人同樂；要與哀哭的人同哭。

假如一個肢體受苦，所有的肢體就一同受苦；假如一個肢體得光榮，所有的肢體就一同快樂。

你使我們在列國中成了笑柄，在萬民中使人搖頭。
