『有禍啊，那跟塑造他、的主爭論的！瓦器跟摶土者計較的！泥土哪能對塑造它的說：「你在作甚麼？」或是說：「你所作的沒有把手呀」？

願他使他的刑杖離開我，不使我懼怕他的心來使我驚惶；那我就說話、也不懼怕他；因為獨對自己、我本不是這樣懼怕。

我，我卻要對全能者說話，我願對上帝辯明我的案情。

永恆主應時對約伯說：『好辯的哪可同全能者挑剔是非呢？譴責上帝的儘管回答呀。』於是約伯回答永恆主說：『啊，我輕微，能答覆你甚麼？我只好用手摀口罷了。我說了一次，再不回答；說了兩次，就不再說。』

哦，巴不得有一位肯聽我！（看哪，這是我所畫押的；願全能者答覆我！）哦，巴不得有和我爭訟者所寫的狀詞！

但是人哪，你到底是誰，你這跟上帝頂嘴的？被塑造的哪能對塑造他的說：「你為甚麼造我像這樣呢？」

哦，巴不得我能知道哪裏可以尋見他，好到他臺前，我就可以將案件擺在他面前，滿口辯訴；我就知道他要回答我的話，我就明白他要對我說甚麼。難道他是用大權勢同我爭辯麼？不！他一定留心聽我。在他那裏、正直人可以同他辯訴；我就永蒙搭救、脫離那審判我的。

這樣、你作原告，我就回答；或是讓我起訴說話，而你答覆我。

現今存在的早已起了名，大家都知道人是甚麼，他並不能同那比他力大的相爭呀。
