爾乃廢人寅畏、阻人虔誠、於上帝前、

以爾所云、是使人不敬畏祈禱上帝也。

以爾所言、使人不敬畏天主、不祈禱天主、或作爾廢棄敬畏天主之事使人不再祈禱天主

But you even undermine piety and hinder devotion to God.

But you even cause others to lose their respect for God. You make it hard for them to be faithful to him.

But you are doing away with the fear of God and hindering meditation before God.

Have you no fear of God, no reverence for him?

So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he committed against the Lord, because of the word of the Lord which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of her,and did not inquire of the Lord. But now it comes to you, and you are impatient; It touches you, and you are horrified.Is your fear of God not your confidence, And the integrity of your ways your hope?

Then one’s uncle, or his undertaker, will lift him up to carry out his bones from the house, and he will say to the one who is in the innermost part of the house,“ Is anyone else with you?” And that one will say,“ No one.” Then he will answer,“ Keep quiet! For the name of the Lord is not to be mentioned.”

Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not become discouraged,

“ But as for me, I would seek God, And I would make my plea before God,

Wrongdoing speaks to the ungodly within his heart; There is no fear of God before his eyes.For it flatters him in his own eyes Concerning the discovery of his wrongful deed and the hatred of it.The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good.
