爾曹為民、無疑也、智慧將與爾偕亡、

爾豈人中之俊乎、爾曹若死、宇宙間豈無哲人哉。

爾為民中俊者、無疑也、爾以為若死、智慧遂同死、或作爾豈民中之俊乎爾曹若死智慧亦死乎

“ Doubtless you are the only people who matter, and wisdom will die with you!

You have closed their minds to understanding, therefore you will not honor them.

I thought that age should speak and maturity should teach wisdom.But it is the spirit in a person— the breath from the Almighty— that gives anyone understanding.It is not only the old who are wise or the elderly who understand how to judge.Therefore I say,“ Listen to me. I too will declare what I know.”Look, I waited for your conclusions; I listened to your insights as you sought for words.I paid close attention to you. Yet no one proved Job wrong; not one of you refuted his arguments.So do not claim,“ We have found wisdom; let God deal with him, not man.”

Teach me, and I will be silent. Help me understand what I did wrong.How painful honest words can be! But what does your rebuke prove?

I have heard a rebuke that insults me, and my understanding makes me reply.

For ask the previous generation, and pay attention to what their ancestors discovered,since we were born only yesterday and know nothing. Our days on earth are but a shadow.Will they not teach you and tell you and speak from their understanding?

But come back and try again, all of you. I will not find a wise man among you.

Woe to those who consider themselves wise and judge themselves clever.

I say this to your shame! Can it be that there is not one wise person among you who is able to arbitrate between fellow believers?

He would show you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom has two sides. Know then that God has chosen to overlook some of your iniquity.

Does a wise man answer with empty counsel or fill himself with the hot east wind?

We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!

A rich person is wise in his own eyes, but a poor one who has discernment sees through him.

Should this abundance of words go unanswered and such a talker be acquitted?

But a stupid person will gain understanding as soon as a wild donkey is born a human!
